Hello, all....just picked this up from my local Staples Office Supply. They scanned my book and enlarged to 3 ft x 2.5 ft, and then plastic laminated. I also bought some fine point dry-erase pens in multiple colors so I can "trace" out where I am working and then just wipe it off and start over. My original book scanned better than I thought it would, only a couple of spots due to wear in the folds, and some yellow hi-lite from the previous owner, but a HUGE improvement to these old eyes.......what do you think ? Someone, I think Paul308 (Paul Bennett) has redone these in multiple colours as a multi-overlay so that image software can pick it apart, circuit by circuit. He only charges a modest fee.
Great improvement. My contribution : picture of the back side internal fusebox Image Unavailable, Please Login And how you can connect wires on the outside of you fusebox.... those connected wires do nothing else inside ! Image Unavailable, Please Login For free ! Guido
Yup....works for me....they actually forgot my "project" on a back counter for two days, when I called for an update they offered to cover the scanning/digital/printing portion and only charged me for the laminating. I also moved the pic from my phone onto my PC, I can now enlarge and scroll around on my wire diagram ! I could take a better shot at the photo, without shadows, glare, etc......anyone want a copy of that ? PM me...I work the next few days, I will do it ASAP. And.....the Staples Mgr told the print shop to clear the copyright on doing the job, they simply called the local dealer and they gave verbal approval, as long it is for personal/individual use..... they said for next time they have the # for the east coast HQ for Ferrari, and were assured that clearance was a mere formality. Gary
Yep, I've done this before...got the clear from the Mgr. to reprint and then offered it to all of you for my cost + a martini.
Hi, Larry.....let me see what I can do. I can photo my copy but much better and email it to you, or I will see if Staples will send me the digital document they have and I can send you that, I have Mon & Tues off......stand by. Gary
That would be awesome! The timing couldn't be better as this was today's project... Image Unavailable, Please Login
First.....Happy Holidays to all !! (trying to be PC here..) Second, I have an idea.....sort of a gift for all here... Who wants a 3 ft X 2.5 ft copy of my wiring diagram for a Series 2 400i a/t ? Larry G ? You are first if you want ? This is what I would like to do.. 1. answer this thread with a "Plz send it " 2. PM me your mailing address 3. I will stick a label on the tube with the copy and send it, my treat 4. you take it to your local print shop and YOU make a COPY for yourself 5. the next person to answer the thread with "I want it", they PM you and YOU send it on to them...and so on... Sort of a "Pay it Forward operation". I will mark X's on the back corners of my copy, maybe a stick-on label somewhere. This will only work IF, everybody makes a copy and does not keep my original, (that way your copy will stay clean and crisp), and, keep sending it forward...which we can track by checking the thread. I realize there will be differences if you have a m/t, or carbs, or a S1 without the electric controls for hood, deck & fuel door, but I would think a lot would be the same. And this is my manual, a PO has some yellow hi-lite and markings, but this is very easy to read in this larger format. What do you think...good idea ? or ? I will also include in the tube the wire color guide...and a excel sheet of the components list as a bonus ( as listed for my car). Gary
I appreciate the offer, but just taking a quick glance at the 1979 owner's manual PDF, there is just too much difference between this version and the 400GT w/ carbs. I would certainly like to try this if anyone has an original 1979 owner's manual that could be scanned at a higher quality than the copy in the shared resource folder. Thanks, Larry
PM and email has been sent to Guido... Gary And here is the Wire color guide for 1985 400i And the diagram component list

I am offering to send a second paper copy of my original...Staples does not keep the scanned file, so the next best thing I could do was have them rescan/reprint a copy of my first copy. It is very clear and easy to read. Gary
Stumbled across an interesting resource. Not much help for my car but some of you may benefit from this... http://ferrari308gtbi.com/
Out of interest, my wiring diagram is for a carbed car with a supplement for the auto box, suggesting that manual trans diagram is nothing unusual.
Scan of the 176/79 400i OM (the respective OMs are where the 400/400i wiring diagram are located -- and why don't you have an OM! ): https://www.dropbox.com/s/asnddmc6e7e8j88/MUM_400i 176_79.pdf?dl=0 And here's a scan of the 250/82 400i OM for additional reference (sometimes they clarify/correct/better explain things in later editions of an OM for the same model): https://www.dropbox.com/s/wnhqpavxe95222d/MUM_400i 250_82.pdf?dl=0 (My recollection is these scans aren't great -- but beggars can't be chosers )
