My thoughts. Drove my F430 home from the Cavallino Classic today after viewing countless legendary Ferraris from the beginning of time with a smile on my face. The F430 is a great Ferrari regular driver offering a lot for the money. For just over $100k and stock you get Ferrari design, sound, speed & handling, racing heritage, (and light depreciation.) Drive in the rain, it can't rust - aluminum body. It's a secret- but now it is out!;)

I can understand your thoughts. I guess the F430 has already its unique place in the Ferrari history, a car with a lot of special features. It was the first Ferrari with the faboulous F136 engine, the first Ferrari with the E-Diff (computer-controlled limited slip active differential) and the Manettino knob on the stearing wheel. This car had the honor to inherit Enzo's tail lights. And there are people who claim the F430 is "more emotional" to drive than its successor (subjective). A great complete package!

And they sound amazing out of the box. Capristo headers and hi flow cats take it to the next level but aren't necessary. After all these years of owning a 430 I'm starting to look into ECU upgrades. I also did a flip double din which brings the car to 2018 and makes driving it daily a little more friendly. Great car all around.

And as long as we address the known weak designs and replace them preventively (exhaust manifolds, exhaust / exhaust brackets, etc) they are actually bulletproof / extremely reliable.

exactly, such a great valued car. Sounds better at low end as well. As soon as I get more garage space, i am buying a spider back

One of the best Ferrari bargins out there. The f430, is what the 360 should have been from the start.

I liked the driving experience in my F430 spider better than my 458 Spider.

    1) it's more organic and less digital
    2) it really feels like a convertible instead of a targa
    3) it seems less artificial in the sound and mechanical parts

The 458 may be faster but I don't think its more fun to drive.

The 458 is a huge step above the 430. But as you say it fails on the "feel" aspect. The 430 is a fun car to drive. Useable power.

The 458 as just plain boring at legal speeds. It doesn't come alive until 120mph. That said, i love the 458. It could be perhaps Ferrari's greatest car to this point.

That's an interesting observation. Although I haven't driven a 458 yet, how is the 458 the greatest car to this point?

I love the 458 - has a ton of feel and emotion, albeit in more of a digital sense. I find McLaren soulless. I don't think that for the 458 though.

I suppose you would have to drive and live with one to understand. They are quite the machine. I'm not comparing it to the legendary Ferraris. I'm comparing it to the run of the mill production units.

Coming from the Porsche clan of cars, my 993 albeit air cooled is much more organic than any of their H2O brethren. The updated P cars have both performance and creature comfort improvements but are not as exhilarating as the air cooled ones.

No doubt the 458 is spectacular. I remember after I received an ECU flash update the techs at the shop were suggesting the F430 is a much more desirable Ferrari. The s line exhaust is the icing on the cake.

I had a 360 and sold it after much sorting of issues large and small. Upgraded to the 430 Scuderia and haven't looked back. It's bullet proof and obviously a big upgrade in performance. But I still like the shape of the 360. I agree with tbakowsky that the 430 is what the 360 should have been.

Don’t be afraid to drive it. I bought mine with 28k and at 32k now. If it wasn’t for fixing all the little issues I’d be in it every weekend lol.
