Compression test on a cold motor due to coolant leak. 3 cylinders have an issue, my guess is bent valves since there consecutive cylinders. That is ugly..... Based on the pics, this seems to be a full on restoration(?). I'm sure you guys will do an awesome job!
Regarding the compression, not sure I would suspect bent valves. Carbon build up is a likely cause of poor sealing valve sealing and compression.
Funny how a Ferrari gets wrecked and people refuse to spend money at the time To correct it properly. Whoever did the body work should be beaten alot.
I want to specify correct it the first time. You all shouldnt be fixing someone elses work. Cant wait to see what it looks like under the fenders and nose.
I see for sale ads in the future "salvage title, but fully restored by Bradan" I'm looking forward to watching this one. sjd
Sending my 355 to you guys for a full restoration is something I day dream about! This is my new top thread to follow. Looking forward to it!
This will be interesting. Can't wait to find out what else is under all that shoddy maintenance and repair work. I'm sure Bradan will do the car justice, and then some!
The worst cars are my favorite cars to tackle, its nice sorting them out to new condition again. The owner is aware of the damage and just wants his car perfect again. 95% of collision shops can't handle proper repair on exotic cars. It takes specific equipment from frame machines and welders to repair it correctly. Insurance companies are one of my better customers these days, I constantly get cars pulled from other collision shops that got lost in a repair. Theres a 360 in the shop that had prior accident damage, the frame rail was JB welded because they didn't know how to weld aluminum. Some of the Ferrari specific equipment can be found in this thread for anyone interested. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/bradan-coachworks.565649/
Does the a.c work? Do the vent direction controls work? How about the shock actuators? power steering rack leaking? I would think this restoration will run to almost 6 figures.
Yes, you are right! Im sure the car will be a standout when finished. The client must be applauded for his/her fine taste in cars and to commission the works.
