This could be a great idea. It's not something I would enjoy but I think many fans would.

What is the point or grid girls, or kids, or goats, or whatever? Can't the drivers find their cars without a big sign being held by someone who is supposed to be attractive?

Maybe the new F1 is aiming for the pedophile demographic.

I hate they removed grid girls, but I kind of like having kids on the grid. Especially if they're up and coming racers themselves. It gives them a taste of things to come and something to shoot for in their career. Gives them exposure early, and puts them in the spotlight to get some connections early on. Nothing wrong with grooming the talent pool and getting an early jump on talent.

That said. I hope these parents realize what the grid of an F1 race really is and how chaotic it can get, and have insurance.

Dickensian streets for the objectification of kids, now beamed live across millions of screens.

    Congratulations Liberty Media.

European Football/American soccer has been having kids walk teams onto the field prior to matches for as long as I can remember. It's a nice touch!

Yes very true, perhaps these grid kids are involved in Karting and might be winners in their class or something like that to promote racing...

Many of the EPL teams charge for the "mascots" as they call them. Back in 2014 it was up to £600 per game. I wouldn't be surprised to see F1 do something similar eventually.

Last I checked football doesn't have cars driving around on the grid and teams of 40+ attending to the cars, mass media etc...

It's a nice thought but reeks of desperation after the negative feedback of banning gridgirls. If this was their intention all along they'd have announced it at the same time of banning grid girls.

I think the male 'grid kids' should escort the grown up 'grid girls' out to the cars. Depending on the outfit the girls are wearing the boys may have something to look up to.
