That's because one is for an event and the other is for an under-the-radar drive in a fantastic car. If you want to fly even a little further under the radar, be ultra comfortable, and not give up much "911-ness", try a Macan Turbo in Sport-plus mode.

    Lol!

Point is that everyone has their own differing opinions... and they constantly change.

I thought I might make a start of some of "the ones that got away". This is the oldest car I have ever owned, a '29 R-R 40/50 "New Phantom", a.k.a. "Phantom 1". An engine of just under 8 litres meant plenty of torque, but not many miles to the gallon! It would cruise comfortably at motorway speeds and had quite decent brakes (an early system of power assisted 4-wheel brakes, developed by Hispano Suiza and powered by an auxiliary drive off the back of the gearbox). It could also have done with power steering - 21" wheels with large tyres on a car weighing getting on for 3 tons, were good exercise for the biceps! My wife and I drove to our wedding in it, as well as to Champagne for the annual Rallye des Vendages, to the R-R factories at Derby (where it was built) and Crewe, and even across the sand to Burgh Island (at low tide!).

Thank you. It is a great car - very analogue and mechanical without being "old"... not much of a GT, or even weekend warrior, but great for loops in the hills, and to experience driving in its most visceral form

Here is another of my "ones that got away". 1967 Jaguar E-type 4.2. I owned this car for 14 years and loved every minute of driving it. The 4.2 series 1 is IMO the best of all, as it combines the improvements that jaguar made when they introduced the large engine, with the beauty of the original body design. Having said that, I was seduced by the purity of the original 3.8, warts and all, when I bought my current E-type.
