This is the (beta) Cover of my new book. I'm completing the book in Italian: the English translation is a nightmare! I just tried to translate the cover: what to do you think of the translation? thank you very much| ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool! I suggest a possible English alternative as "The Turbo Years of the Prancing Horse". To me the words "negli anni" did not translate well into "age" since I know you mean a "past era".
You are welcome: thank you very much! Or maybe "the prancing horse turbo years"? In any case i still have to complete it in Italian: it's just to show you the book is almost complete Thank you again ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
To my ear, it is not smooth. It needs a little bit more. (Hopefully a student of the English language can chime in.) Another possibility, for the translations, is to used mixed language, such as an English title of "The Turbo Years of the Cavallino Rampante"
That part works absolutely fine for me, with zero confusion. eg the Eizabethan age, the nuclear age, Age of Empires etc etc
I think the turbo years are now (regretfully, in my opinion) That being the case, how about something along the lines of "The First Turbo Years" or " The Previous Turbos" or "The Turbo Ferrari's 70's Through The 90's" Not that any of those are best - just an idea to follow.
Good luck with your new book Alberto! Nice picture of a local (Modena) Ferrari for the cover, beautiful effort by you. Maybe this for a title> Turbo - Ferrari 1976 - 1992
Thank you all: The English title will be "The Prancing Horse in the first turbo age" In any case at present just Italian. English during summer Ciao
Thank you very much for your appreciation. Considering that I have to undergo an eye surgery soon, times are no less than two or three months for the Italian version and this fall/winter for the English. Maybe it will be an Amazon book. Ciao
It will make a perfect Christmas gift Alberto! Can't wait to see it. It's going to be a magnificent book , I'm sure of that. Wishing you all the best for your eye surgery.
Suggestion: check your upper/lower title case and punctuation. Also there's an extra space after With on the last line.
You are right. I just tried to translate it in English in 30 seconds to show you all what the title was saying. It will be very hard to translate it in English as it's a simple book but written with my heart so it will be very hard to translate in another language the passion and the enthusiasm of an old enthusiast. The book starts with Ferrari history in the sixties, talks of the 308, Gilles Villeneuve and his F1 cars, the turbocharger's history, the Comprex, Enzo Ferrari, 208 turbo (the star of this book), 288 GTO, "328" turbo, F40, the Schedoni luggage, the end of the turbo era and a small buying guide for the 208 and 328 turbo. There will be exclusive interviews with these technicians: Materazzi, Morreale, Mauro Schedoni, Vincenzi and Bonfiglioli. Ciao
and I forgot to say that in the book there will be (at least) two world premiere: one is the true story of the famous "yellow" 288 GTO 47649, the other is a small Enzo Ferrari private interview I did in 1987, where the Commendatore himself will tell, in an official way, why the first turbo era ended. I have to say a big thank you to eng. Morreale, whose help was (and still is) fantastic. ciao
I certainly could try, Alberto. Whereas there is a market for a french version of the book is another matter. Ciao.
This will be, very likely, the English cover. In any case, it will be on the autumn - winter Ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
