So the problem you have with your car is that it is too damn fast. Compounding this massive dilemma is that your wife is much too hot and wants sex every night. My thoughts and sympathies are with you.

The fact of the matter is, and emphasis should be made, that the 488 can ALSO be a very versatile and balanced car.

It isn't just fast, or too fast, all the time. It has other sides to its personality. If you want to have a relaxed drive by the sea with the top down on a 488 Spider, it will be magnificent and rewarding. It can be loud or surprisingly quiet. It can be mind-blowingly fast, or quite behaved. It's up to you.

One of the aspects that I love the most on the 458 and 488 (and all modern Ferraris) is that you're their master. They react to you, they're an extension of your will and they'll actually help you have fun. With older cars (namely 1990s and older), you had to adapt to the car if you wanted to enjoy it and not get killed.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

    100% agree

My mum can drive my 488 easy enough it's a 2 seat auto with power steering and good forward visibility and a nice cabin and quiet at low revs and plenty of space for groceries.

I can also drive it in manual mode on a nice road and it's like Riding on the back of an angry dragon!

OP - don't sell it - learn how to get what you want from it.....

It's an amazing car with so much torque and 2 characters in one car!!

    Regards Michael

:(Yeah I can just imagine being too rich, a big dick, a super-hot wife who wants it all the time and owning cars that are too fast and sexy as hell is sure one heck of a problem o_O I mean who could deal with that?

There is an article with some language from SM about acknowledging some owners actually do not like fast cars. I thought it strange but perhaps now there are some. Problem is the manufacturer might eventually think its more prevalent than it actually is and move in the opposite direction making more average cars.

    lol...tough crowd.

I really doubt the The OP is complaining that his 488 is too fast.

...but that modern Ferraris and Lamborghinis are so insulated with driver aids, electronics and isolation from the road it's that you have to be going at incredible speed to "feel" the same rush you would get from an older car at slower speeds.
My 308 gtsi from back in the day was a slow dog....but it sure felt fast. My Diablo VT Roadster when running through the gears would have such a sense of occasion and you literally felt the wheels were falling off lol

Now, I just pull a little carbon fiber paddle and hope to not chip my nail polish while sipping on my mocca Grande latte hoping that my smartphone interfaces properly with the infotainment system ;)

No i'm pretty confident OP is in a minority so I wouldn't worry much about it. I can't see Ferrari taking too much notice other than perhaps scratching a select few from future GTO ownership.

OP, I get what you’re saying. Totally valid.

I totally love the 488, but it revs and increases speed (and shifting) so quickly, it doesn’t allow you time to smell the roses; it just throws the whole bouquet right in your face. Wham!

You can always turn the driver's aids off and then best of luck... Also you must be a fighter pilot in order not to get a rush when you do 0-120 in less than 10''...

Best mix of a visceral car that feels like a classic but has modern power is a later Lamborghini Diablo. NOTHING gets more visceral than having the top off at 7,000 rpm with a mid-engine V-12 propelling you forward.

997/993 GT3 will be much more of a handful to drive at the limit than the 488. You will definitely be going slower but these GT3 will bite you harder if you screw up. 991 GT3/RS are more manageable and still have a great driving experience.

What did Clarkson say? It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car fast. A 10/10ths car you can get everything out of, every last little bit.

Sounds like you are a candidate for penis reduction surgery.

I had it done. You will be VERY PLEASED with the results. :)

    stepping on the gas in a 430 will not get you into trouble . . . if you've taken some driver's ed; all of the cars mentioned are street driveable, and the power becomes addictive, if you apply it properly; a Z06 with 650/650 is great fun on the street . . .(except for the heat issue);
