Well Christian, do we like that of did we have higher expectations ? I had higher expectations for sure. You ?
looks like could be dynamic redline as those appear to be LED lights that show the redline zone. I'd assume that 7800 is the top end of the redline, perhaps it's lower with cold engine and/or snow/rain mode.
My 4 cents: - Based on what I've seen so far, I like the changes from 488 GTB to 488 VS better than the ones from 458 Italia to 458 Speciale. - If I get one allocated, I will probably go for Bianco Avus again. No stripe. No radio. Basically, it'll be close to a carbon-copy to my 458 Speciale's specs, which turned out great (there's nothing that I miss and nothing that I have but don't like / use), which isn't bad knowing it was my first-time Ferrari specification. - Possibly CF wheels, unless they are ridiculously priced... but I like the shape of the (seemingly) standard thinner-spoked ones from the teaser video too. - I'm flying to Geneva for the Motorshow to see the car in the flesh. Can't wait for that, regardless what we'll be shown this or next week.
So I spoke with a local dealer and they have confirmed that no one here has a "confirmed" allocation. This is still to be determined even though invites are out. Seems like the process might be slow or take some time. Again a ticket to the preview on the 20th is a ticket to the game at least
Whatever the number, it will certainly be more than the number of speciales. Ferrari has been gradually increasing annual sales. The current CEO is about selling more cars, not less, which is reasonable and understandable. If any hype of scarcity develops, it is just that. Eventually demand will be met.
Ferrari is a listed company, profit comes first as shareholders' interest is paramount. Wondering how much dividends will Ferrari pay its shareholders.
If the markings are to be believed, the redline is 8000 RPM. The major graduations (1000 RPMs) are not indicated, only the minor ones (200, 400, etc.) so per below, red zone starts at 8000. Note that the normal 488 is similar. I know there have been discussions on the actual redline, so just commenting on the tach markings here. Image Unavailable, Please Login Per comments and observations (the rear tray is too big to be movable) the rear spoiler is fixed. The novelty here is that the underside is blown and this outflow is vectored upwards by a deflector (seen in the pic as a black CF part) to help stay attached to the underside of the spoiler, which is practically a wing. The deflector has a similar function to the "monkey seat" wings on F1 cars in its function. Image Unavailable, Please Login The inlet for this flow is from the trailing edge of the window, which on the base 488 was used to fill the "base area" for drag reduction. Image Unavailable, Please Login Also visible in the teaser video are the scoops on the upper surface of the rear fenders which most likely serve the same purpose as the above mentioned scoop but feed the openings adjacent to the rear lights: Image Unavailable, Please Login These scoops replace the openings in the rear fender scoops (behind the doors) which were above the splitter. As the splitter is no longer there, presumably to increase cooling or intake flow to the engine, the upper fender scoops were added. Image Unavailable, Please Login
People who appear on the factory list are confirmed 100%. No order is confirmed in MODIS yet and the options list won’t be available until after Geneva, however any customer selected by the factory is definitely getting a car (provided they want one) Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
That’s assuming there is a 488GTB to trade! I’ll be adding to the collection. I can squeeze in one more car.
Not simply more cars - actually they specifically pointed to the potential to do more limited series high margin cars Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My US dealer told me ferrari did not give them bumbera of cars they’ll get, but told them to be ready to have less 488vs than Speciales.
