488 GTO ?

soon we will all know I have been checking here occasionally quite a frenzy hopefully a new thread gets started when the car is actually revealed ..I think 4201 posts is a record for pre intro of a model....some will have lots of spare time once it is introduced .........

 

Just a guess I'm afraid. Though I did guess Superfast for the 812.

It's the emphasis on racing and the increasing use of Evo on Ferrari's hardest core cars. True, the VS will be a road-warrior, but I fancy Evo (like the Integrale Evo from Lancia days too). I was thinking Pilota given all the P hints, but surely E can look like a P under certain circumstances lol. Just a bit of fun, and tomorrow I will forget I even entertained such silly ideas.

 

I may as well join in.

I don’t think the name will be revealed today. Let’s see what will happen, in Switzerland the meeting start at 18, the car will be probably presented around 19. Anyone at Kessel Lugano?

 

6.30pm in Lausanne today...different time zone between Ticino and Vaud ?
The first who can post picture (or name) please do...but I doubt we will be allowed to.

AFAIK, the live feed will start at 19:00 central EU time.

Agree there is no way to stop leaks with such attendance, even though I think the audience will be in hundreds rather than thousands - Ferrari have about 200 dealers worldwide, only the largest will gather close to 100 people and those in the "Western" countries will have delayed presentations due to time zones.

 

I'm sticking with Monza. That's what the blurry screen caps look like to me.

Whoa Whoa Whoa..........obviously you're referring to me in this statement. Let me tell you something. I'm not embarressed one bit about wanting the 488 to get the GTO nameplate. I advocated and persisted the GTO for fun but knew deep down Ferrari was not going to call it the GTO because as we all know, whatever name we start calling a Ferrari, it won't get used.

Taking guesses at the features of an upcoming supercar(especially a Ferrari) is like playing closes to the pin. Its fun to test your automotive knowledge and see how accurate you can be based on what you calculate.

I predicted Pirelli P zero Trofeo R's would be used because we all knew that Ferrari was going to use an R compound and I figured since they used Pirelli Corsas on the LaFerrari and F12 tdf........you get where I'm going.

I was right about the carbon fiber rims.........wrong about the centre locks.....and I still stand by my opinion of the Fiorano lap times being on par or better than the LaFerrari. I have been racing for years now so I have a bit knowledge when looking at the two cars and what they are capable. The fact that the 488 Pista has R compound tires is a significant factor alone not taking anything else into consideration
