Looks way better in that rendering video!! I'll withdraw my first comment :)

In the rendering video the wheels are tucked in a tad (thank god) in the first photo they appear to stick out which I don't like at all.

It's a Ferrari, an Italian supercar, a 488 GTB improved version. But there isn't anything so special: No CF hub, no 4WS, no 4WD, the specific power per liter still is the F40 one more or less, no hybrid, no extra light construction. I think better waiting for the 488 replacement if you really want something new. This said, this car finally has a great looking tail (I couldn't stand the 488 one) and improves a lot the 488 lack of aggressive shape.

    Ciao

It's probably been mentioned in the thousands of posts somewhere, but I'm guessing one of the special options that are available to Challenge, XX and F1 Clienti drivers will be the lightweight, redesigned carbon mirrors.

It's the best iteration of the 458-488 platform. It would be unreasonable to expect something more since it's not a new platform. Also the specific power is way higher than the F40's, which didn't have to worry about emissions either. As for 4WD, even Porsche knows it's a bad idea in a hardcore car.

Its a 488 evolution. All those things you are referring to would be in the replacement in 2021. This is leaner, meaner, lighter version of the same car:

I would take one if I could get it. I dont care about the name, it is no worse than La Ferrari and I would take one of those as well.

The biggest performance factors for this car are surely the new sport cup 2 spec tires.

Like it but don't love it. Prefer the 488 GTB. Getting too busy like the Mac. Its interesting how Ferrari has totally revised the front from the 458 > Speciale > 488 > Pista to get better air flow but its not evolution but rather redesign.

Love everything about the 488 Pista !!!
Even the name is original !!
488 GTO would have been confusing as it would remind us of the 288 GTO which was a completely different car in term of positioning in the company !!

I can only imagine how it is going to kill everything on the track !!
First target is Lambo Huracan Performante !! It should be a tough fight, but the twin-turbo 488 Pista will prevail !!
Next is the 991 GT2... Another tough fight... But I trust Maranello engineers have been prepared !!

Regardless of the times, I am sure the 488 Pista will be the most satisfying to drive !!!

when did they make a new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires......I remember not long ago they said that the dirty lil secret about the SC2 tires was that you get one hero lap and they fall off after that

For reasons that are not relevant to this post, I have refrained from comments for quite sometime. After reading all the posts about like/don't like, I am surprised by the lack of comment on specific features. Such as the more 458 meets Portofino rocker. A significant change from the 488 rocker which I found to be too massive. Or that this "lightweight" track car in the video has a JBL stereo! Don't get me wrong. I would likely order it with the stereo! But is Ferrari playing to the prospective buyer or to the "purpose" of the car with its launch vehicle?

What are you talking about ! The car is beautiful! Amazing that no matter how beautiful the car there’s always someone that doesn’t like it ...

Will be tough to match Performante. And no way it touches the 720s.

But I’d rather have a Pista

There's a frunk in the standard 488, I wonder if it's there (and usable) in the Pista due to that modified shape?

The F40 is 31 years old, 1987, when the Ferrari entry level had 254 HP: now the entry level has 600 Hp... F40: 163 Hp/liter. 488 Pista: 184 Hp/liter

    Carbon Fiber tub, sorry.

correct, that's why I don't understand all this enthusiasm for this car

    yes, thank you.

    . Agree.

90 kg lighter (200 lbs) looks impossibile without installling the CF rims option, that you can put on a standard 488 too.

This car is much better looking in the rear (I mean the tail view) than the 488 GTB: this is for me the best improvement this car has, I like it.

    ciao
