Can't start a poll within a thread, so... who should play Higgins?

 

I'll watch it but since I'm old school and was sitting in front of the TV the night the pilot aired (because I saw a preview and wanted to see that red Lamborghini - forgive me, I was 12) I already know I won't like it.

I can just see myself trying to get through an episode while thinking over and over again,"...that's not right, that's not right!"

I wonder if there is an unsuspecting 11 year old somewhere out there now that is about to have a TV show change his life like it did me back in Dec 1980

 

I don't know guys... the remaking of Magnum PI sounds like a flop! I wonder if Tom Selleck will make an appearance?

 

Some things you just have to leave alone. How about coming up with an original idea, what ever happened to that?

 

Now that's a novel idea !

 

I would watch it if Selleck played Higgins.

One needs to be in a parking lot somewhere and he should "notice" and grin to the camera or something.

Which brings up another question, Magnum broke the fourth wall and that gave the show even more special character. Hope they keep that too.

 

I think it is more likely that the new Magnum will drive a Tesla.

There's no creative spark any more, just a re-creative one, buried under layers of production bureaucracy (who just want jobs), and topped off by the money guys, who just want, well, money. Most have no interest in the product. Why do you think there are so many sequels at the movies? They're cheaper to make, with an almost guaranteed return for the venture capital groups funding them. Couch your Magnum/Ferrari/Hughes 500 enthusiasm in terms of dollars returned, and they may even listen to you.

 

If it's to be in Hawai'i today, then Magnum will be driving a Tacoma twin cab...

 

The thing is, Magnum was rubbish. The Rockford Files was much better.

I'm a Rockford fan but Magnum was certainly NOT "rubbish" - reserve that word for Starsky and Hutch d;-)

What the new Magnum drives will come down to what company is willing to pay the most for product placement.

I loved Rockford Files. Remember, that was Selleck's first gig as a PI - Lance White.

Magnum's best years were the first 3 seasons in my opinion. Weird because on a tv series, generally things get better as the characters develop but Magnum got it right the first time.

Some of the later shows had gotten just silly. I stuck with it though. Never missed an episode in 8 years.
