Rendering or not, I have never like those Liberty Walk widebody kits on any car and I don't understand how anyone can. I do like how the Japanese have resprayed cars like the F50 white and put on nicer brakes and wheels, but these bodykits are terrible and look very tacky imo.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Doesn't appeal.

As a certain famed automotive journalist from the UK once said: "it has absolutely no redeeming features whatsoever".

If it were real, the only appropriately descriptive words that would come to mind would be Automotive Vandalism.

    Thankfully its not.

Freedom of expression is important, equally so, people's reaction to same. I think when anything is based on a deliberate attempt to provoke in a negative way ("offend") then a similar response should be expected by many.

Personally I think Khyzyl Salem has a lot of time on his hands, but, I'll give him an 'A' for imagination.

    Agreed.

    Tough sell, this one.

Thank you for rescuing the thread.

According to Andreas Birner Ferrari Consulting

" The Ferrari 288 GTO s/n 52473 was one of several examples that were sold directly by the Ferrari factory to clients, bypassing the dealer network. This one, the 15th of 273 examples produced, was sold new on March 15, 1985 to Bruno Zambelli, an entrepreneur in the fashion industry resident in San Giovanni in Persiceto, in the Bologna region. In 1987, s/n 52473 changed hands to her second keeper, a Mr. Bartoli, resident on Lago d‘Iseo. He kept the car through the year 2000 and then sold it to Jean Becquet of Vallauris on the Côte d‘Azur, a collector who bought, sold and traded hundreds of cars within a couple of years. In 2006, this 288 GTO spent one year in German ownership before I brokered her to her current keeper in 2007. After eleven years, I now have the car exclusively on consignment again. Enquire if interested! "

I started this thread over a decade ago to be a resource for the genuine Ferrari SpA factory production GTOs, if we stick to those I think we'll do just fine.

I know the 250 is frequently considered the greatest Ferrari ever, but it never held much appeal for me (I much prefer the 250 LM and SWB). I think the 288 blows the 250 away.

That's high praise for the 288.

Of interest I can think of a couple of gentlemen with both 250 & 288

I remember it, epic shot in Carmel Valley, that's my client's 250 GTO, as is the 288 GTO (separate owners)

I agree somewhat. On looks alone, I don't see it as the greatest "looking" Ferrari ever! That's a bias opinion on "us" Ferrari enthusiasts. Unfortunately not many of us experienced a drive with one. So we cannot offer our opinion on that either.
    So what is it?
I know I'm kinda going off topic.

#4757 GT and #55669 at 2012 The Quail.

The current owner of 4757 GT is the previous longterm owner of 250 GTO #3943 GT. 55669 is currently owned by a very recently-retired Formula One driver (who drove for Scuderia Ferrari during several seasons of his storied career).

I thought the 288 was another in a subsequent year, thanks for confirming.

So many gorgeous Ferraris from each different era that it's impossible to decide!

288 GTO is definitely one of them.

I think the 250 GTO is one of the most significant or important, but not necessarily the most beautiful per se

I attended that event back in 1997 and well remember the rain in Rome. Luckily it was sunny on the drive to Maranello. We had the good fortune of bringing both the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Sperimentale #2643 GT and 1966 Ferrari 330 P3/4 (412P) #0844 (when it was still in its open Can-Am configuration), to the 50th Anniversary event.

“That's high praise for the 288”

I just ajways considered the 288 as one of the greatest Ferrari designs ever. As for 250’s I much prefer the LM shed the SWB over the GTO.
