Hi Everyone, Just finished a valve adjustment on my car. After putting everything back together started the car and RPM gauge does not work. Anyone know were the engine wires are for the RPM gauge. Been trying to look at manuals cannot find it.
Do you have the MN (brown-black) wire connected to the ballast resistor as shown on page 74 of the 150/78 OM?
Hi Steve, I removed the black wire as I just installed a pertronix ignition on my P1-4 distributor. I have no more black wires connecting from coils to R1 points. The Brown wire is still connected.
The schematic shows the wire going to the tach is a brown-black wire (not brown), but, if you have it connected to the minus terminal of one of the coils. this thread is the only one I can recall where someone posted that you might have to do something else to get the tach to work with Pertronix: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/pertronix-for-308s.410187/#post-142338738
