Man, the Spider really does let the sound in... considerably more. The sound that this car makes can prickle the hair on your neck.

That is a great road. I wish there were roads like that around here. I would wager that Baghdad Iraq has less potholes than we do in Michigan.

Yeah, the dry Southwest is easier on asphalt, and so many of the Vegas roads are less than 30 years old, many less than 15 - we get some nice smooth driving. That said, there aren't a whole lot of options to open things up unless you get a little ways out.

Main reason I bought one. :)

    Actually this video specifically:

    360 goes by first...then the 355 shows em how it's done. :D

Minor correction, it sounds very F1 when F1 sounded awesome and before it started sound like the leaf blowers and vacuums it sounds like now.

    Forza Ferrari, Forza F355!

Indeed, sounds very old-school F1, very lovely screaming sound :)

I'm guessing the 360 needed some regulatory changes in the stock exhaust, rendering it more muted in comparison to the 355? I think there was a Top Gear or Fifth Gear episode where they reviewed the 360 CS, and they mentioned how that car had one of the last "loud" exhausts before even stricter sound emission rules were put in place (if only I could find that episode...).

I've had a Theory for a while that it's actually the bypass arrangement on the 355 exhaust that gives that characteristic sound. Where it splits into two after the manifold the parallel exhaust lengths are slightly different which would mean there could be a super imposed 'false' engine pulse when the pipes merge back together. That makes the engine sound as though it's revving twice as fast as it is.

I could see that being a factor. I remember reading somewhere that engines sound 'better' when they have unequal length exhaust pipes.

Since we are sharing music videos, here are some of my favorites:

This one I have watched forever

This one just has great sound:
I hope my car shoots flames when I install the test pipes.

Love that car. Too bad it's not street legal. They aren't supercharged as far as I know. Unless you mean the electric motor part. A little off topic but I want this exhaust for my Mercedes:

Anyone who has listened to 4 cylinder motorcycle engines revving over 10,000 will tell you that the F355 does not sound like it is revving at twice its RPMs.

My theory is that all the plumbing in the exhaust is just right (right length, right diameter) and this is what lets the musicality out.
