    Hello all!

LONG story cut very short, we have a 1992 512TR at our dealership that needs a replacement "cup" for the front hood (it is located right behind the hood badge). Here's the kicker...in our 512TR SEPTEMBER 1992 Ferrari parts book, it shows the cup, in all it's glory - part #63051200. However when you switch to a 512TR MARCH 1992 book, the cup and the part number completely disappear. SEE PICTURES!

Can anyone offer not only some help locating said part but some knowledge on why it disappears from book to book in only a 5 month span?

From the pictures it seems that at the one referring to your car [MARCH 1992] did not need it, but the one AFTER [SEPTEMBER 1992] did need it. It could have been a late-year design change.

why disappears? it comes in the later book additionally. I think they have forgotten it in the march edition and corrected it later?

I agree with Romano, I think it was initially omitted and later added. Don't feel bad though, the Testarossa has that cup as well (at least my 1988 does) and it's not listed in either the 1985 or 1990 catalogs.... Image Unavailable, Please Login

Does anybody know where I can find the cup itself? Have searched high low, within the US and overseas with no success.

Already have called. Trust me when I say I've contacted at least 25-30 vendors/people.

I believe a 3-D printed part would be the prudent way to proceed in your situation. It may not be cost effective in this instance, but it will give you more experience benefits in the future concerning parts no longer available or difficult to obtain.

I was just able to add one to the online shopping cart for a eye-watering wallet draining $3.65 at Algar. Have you not tried them?

Algar's inventory is incorrect - I've already contacted Livio. We are an authorized Ferrari dealer and have been for over 30 years. That said, I've already e-mailed/called everyone in the dealer network. As stated previously within this thread, I have searched the figurative globe with no success. You name it, I've probably called/e-mailed them.

Bummer. I hate when online inventories are incorrect. I was burned by it the other day myself. How about a trying to locate a used one from a breaker?

I have tried a handful of exotic junkyards and they either don't have the car for "breaking" and/or the part is missing. Running into road-blocks at every turn.

My sir I owe you an apology.

While Algar's inventory was incorrect at the time of my initial call, they have since corrected their inventory and it turns out they actually had the part on their shelf. After an exhausting 6 days of actual searching I have my beloved part in my hands. A genuine thank you to ALL who offered assistance!
