Congrats! Always good to see another KY 308 running around. There are a few of us floating around the state. You'll have to get out to cars and coffee in Louisville or Lexington. You might should PM me about quoting for my classic car policy as it is up for renewal. Best Regards, John M
Wow, pretty crazy story, congrats! Jealous the emergency light was still with the car. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Thanks!! I would love that! I do a lot of events across the country, and will work this in. PM sent for insurance info... Agree! Still hard to believe.... It was a good price! Beginner Luck in the Ferrari world, although, been in the industry for about 20 years.
Well played op ! As this is an 84 model.... does that not preclude it from being referred to as an “early” QV? I would have thought an early model would be an 83. I’ve been on a few barn find adventures they are a ton ‘o fun. Congrats!
Amazing story. It’s just the beginning. Can’t wait to see more pics. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mate amazing story, great find and enjoy the process. Hopefully you keep it and make it an heirloom for your kids
You have no idea. Even a free 308 can end up costing you more than a good deal on one that is complete and running. The bits and pieces that you list are mostly cosmetic bits and that means you don’t see the other stuff and/or haven’t a clue. It seems like you may make out okay and I hope so. Let us know when the chickens hatch!
I can tell you that I have had a week with the car now, and the "bits and pieces" are coming together. I have had a couple 308 "experts" look over the car, and are putting together a list for me. Since Ferrari ins't my thing (I am a Corvette guy), I rely on help from others. While it may not appear that I "have a clue" I assure you that isn't the case.
So what was the price? I kept looking for what the barn find set you back. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Is it just me? Can’t help but feel that individuals who ask “ how much you pay for XXX “ A little short on Class.. NOYD Business!
I'll give you an answer. This is a barn find...a unique situation. It's of interest because of what one paid vs. the restoration costs. This is a Ferrari forum....we all know the costs. So, it's an interesting equation. If someone posted..here's my new 488, no one cares about the price. It's a new car. We have a guy in the Testarossa forum looking to buy a tr. So, we're all posting pricing, links and comments on what to look for and why such and such car is worth the asking or not. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Shamile, it’s just not something I plan on discussing. What do you feel it is worth in its condition?
That's fine. I asked because I don't know the 308 values anymore...just wondering what an unrestored car sold for. It's been 18 years since I had a 80 308 gtsi and a 82 308 gtsi. I thoroughly enjoyed those cars. They were slow but they sure felt fast. ...and that whine from the gearbox when you shifted...heaven! You'll definitely love it when you get it back on the road. ...you'll eventually get used to the "hey Magnum" comments lol Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Doesn’t matter if it’s of interest, it’s still none of your business LOL great thing about Ferrari-chat is we can agree to disagree ..
