'The Ratarossa': The Testarossa Spider Rebuild Project

I had black in my old Testarossa, I did consider it as it’s very easy to do but actually I like the original 80s retro look of the brown/ tan

 

Good question, yesterday I sprayed it with a satin finish. However this morning since drying overnight I’ve compared it with the new original dash I’ve just acquired and the finish should be a matt. I then saw it in sunlight and in fact it looks like a semi matt with just a hint of shine. I had ordered matt finish this morning to redo it but just rang and changed to the semi matt that they also supply.

Well I’m actually ‘hoping’ to have it back on the road for the odd fun trip this summer.
Just to be able to drive it and enjoy a few days out.
But it will by no means be finished then, it’s an ongoing project but to have it useable in between will make the build more fun.
Also I keep changing the level at which this car is complete. Originally it was just going to be really scruffy everywhere. Then I started tidying and painting parts up and currently I’m at a stage where the car will be all goid underneath but externally look ‘rat’

 

The main thing though with the ‘Ratarossa’ project is that I’m really enjoying it and having much fun building it.

 

Im trying to figure out the correct way the front hood release cable routes from the release pull handle (by the side of drivers seat) through the small tube in dash the the lock under the hood.

Anyone know where the cable should sit between these two points ?

Refinished the dash parts again with the 'Semi Matt' and very happy with the results, looks great against the original panel.

Started to kit out and prepare the dash to go back in the car.

Had to make the radio slot in the dash just slightly wider to allow for the 6112 to fit.

Again same with the 'seat belt panel' in the console. I had filed the holes, covered it and sprayed it but the finish was naff so have stripped it started to sanded it again and will redo it
