That is a stunning car and colour combo, never seen anything like it and am envious! Would love to know that exterior colour. It really suits the Maranello.

I love the Barchetta wheels! My 456M was ordered from the factory with them. Quite rare.

George- 18" wheels were not available as an option on the 456M. Thought we had been over this before.

It is my understanding that it came off the lot from Ferrari of Beverly Hills with those wheels.

George- If a dealer added those wheels, that does not qualify as having anything to do with the factory. Unless it had an 18" tire sticker, not a factory option.

The car was eleven years old and the tires were eleven years old. Whether the factory did it or Ferrari of Beverly hills did it, the car was delivered to the first owner with them. Maybe give it a rest.

George- Maybe stop making claims for which you have no proof and which go against all factory documentation.

You've gotten old and cranky the last couple of years. You used to be more fun. A simple, "the dealership must have done that" would have been fine, Terry "get off my lawn" Phillips.

George, your car looks beautiful with those wheels.

In so far as Fchat is an online reference for our cars, it's important to know whether something was a factory option or not. That's what Taz initially pointed out, and that's all. I think it's both a fair and important comment; and it's not personal, just a statement that 456s did not have 18 inch wheels as options. That's a fact that might be useful for others using Fchat as a resource. I use Fchat as a resource for many things, that's its value (even more than the eloquent banter we all enjoy so much).

The fact that the original supplying dealer may have added yours on, is interesting for your car, but it's not really useful to anyone using this board as a factual resource, unless they are buying your (beautiful) 456.

    George,

What did you do with those wheels? Your car wasn't sold with those, was it?

In what respect? I'm aware of a recent sale of a car with similar miles for very close to this price.

Real fact is that old reprobate George was claiming those 550 modulars were factory fitted when he had the Monroney all the time that proved they were not.

The OP had a typo on the price with an extra zero. Either that or he's in line for a big refund check which should buy a nicely sorted Plexi Daytona and still leave him money for gas. :D

Damn, that was a lot of money back then.

    $6,400 gas guzzler tax.

Am I reading that right "Infection with Feedback Control." What is that? A typo with and O2 sensor?

Stu- Yup, injection with feedback control. Monroneys are notoriously inaccurate. Note on this 612 Monroney it says it has a 4 speed, torque converter automatic and Teves ABS. Obviously someone started with a 456 Monroney (both 2.7 and 5.2 characteristics mixed) for a draft and missed these "little" differences from the 6 speed F1 transaxle and Bosch ABS.

It's nice to have an encyclopedia around, but most of us don't care about that level of detail. The 456M was as the buyer ordered it, and as it was delivered to him. That the dealer had to order the wheels separately doesn't mean squat to me. He drove it off the lot in that configuration. That's all I care about.

I sold those wheels and got a second set of the stock ones.
