This being April 1, I thought it high time to pull my vintage 18k white gold Rolex Day-Date from the back recesses of my watch box and polish off the heavy corrosion. This is a very special watch because Rolex printed “DAY - DATE” on the face, but yet only provided a window for the date. The cyclops is a little off center too. Oddly, despite it being a superlative chronometer, the mechanism keeps on stopping. Probably it just needs a cleaning. I need to send it to a Certified Rolex Service Center. I know they will be delighted when they receive this rare and special watch.

Yes. The dial is original. The dials from the 1920's were funky and the script was not as exact as today's watches. Plus my picture was taken at an angle and the crystal is curved so it will distort the image. If you look at dials from the period, they are the same as mine. Plus I had an expert look at the watch prior to purchase (PPI) given the purchase price.
