Steve you mentioned in your previous post that after the accumulator it fixed your issue 80%. So was it the reprogramming that did the trick?

I'm working on the accumulator replacement now using the Ricambi part and adapter kit. I'm wondering if those of you who went that route left the green o-ring on the accumulator when you fit it to the female union? Since there's only a small beveled recess on the union it just seems to kind of squish out on all sides which I wouldn't expect, but I know that connection will need a seal of some sort under this pressure.

Just an update here three years and 8,000 miles on.

I fired up the car today and still have 5 blinks to pressure.
The car shifts great, has no F1 issues and works perfectly.

I suspect accumulator failures are far more likely than pump / relay failures.

Nothing more unique and spectacular than a properly running F1 system on a 355.

So the Alfa/Fiat part is the same as the one on Ferrari's?
I think the F430 uses the same part as the 355, for the accumulator, which is p/n 58552368
    Thanks

Getting ready to do mine, thread very helpful
Are there any kind of local USA Distributors to get a really nice strap wrench? Really want to tackle that this weekend and don't have to wait for shipping if possible.
Wondering Can you just use open-ended box wrench to get this off and replace? Image Unavailable, Please Login

I tried Watson’s method but was a no go for me as mine was so tight I started to bend the f1 housing that’s mounted in rubber bushings

I took off the whole housing and used these two pliers
With the extra length of the pliers it came off easy

    Hi Grant,
Going to do mine this weekend. Did you drain your fluid prior to removal of the housing?

Careful with all of these wrenches when screwing a new accumulator ball in. The housing is aluminum and once you damage the thread you're DONE.

Wear the medical gloves and the proper torque is tight it up with a good force both hands in medical gloves - but NOT all force you can apply! NO ANY WRENCHES WHATSOEVER.
