No problem. It was a great day...great cars. First time i had ever met Piet Pulford and his lovely lime green Muira...he actually bought a print off me i took of it. He said it was the best colour shot he had seen of it.

re: the CD 1000 Daytona...thanks, i looked back and read all that.

I saw the car a year and a half ago at a Ferrari specialist.
It had been stripped down, but no further work was being done to it at the time, for reasons I don't know about.

Going back to 1985 during my UNI years...I was forever wandering the streets of London with my camera. There was always a surprise to see round the corner. I think the guys at HR Owen, Portman Lamborghini, and Hendon Way Motors were probably sick to death of me hanging around....
Anyway, probably a well known car, but came across the Emblem Sports Car 308 GTS QV that was styled for the former Crown Prince Naif, and a Koenig 308. Hating the wheels on the Koenig, they remind me of the Bertone Athon wheels....horrible

Wow. I have a photo of the same white Koenig 308 out back at HROwen in about 1988. I’ll dig it out. I too went to the same haunts, but not til 1988.

Cool. I was always at HR Owen. Have many photos from there. Stan used to be the Foreman and Simon, a young coloured guy used to do all the valeting. Stan used to give me brochures and all sorts. Happy days.

I used to do the same thing in the late 60s, when there were far fewer Ferraris about and, perhaps more importantly, a small band of dedicated enthusiasts traipsing the streets to find them. Hunting grounds in those days included Maranello Concessionaires glorified nissen huts in Wellesley Rd, Chiswick; Lamborghini Concessionaires (a filling station in Alie St in the East End) and the streets of Mayfair and Knightsbridge.

There was not a lot to see - a high spot was a GTE AND a Lusso parked together near the Dorchester (both with BRDC badges)- but we managed to befriend many mechanics and were often treated to a look at something special behind the scenes!

Another treat was quite a long ride in a new Espada. 'The only one in the country' according to the driver. We saw two more later in the day (which in fairness probably meant all of those in the Country at that time!)

I am fairly sure I saw a 308 Koenig at Kent High performance 2 years ago that still has the massive whale tail on.

Definately looks like it and with it's second air scoop on it, which was a later addition back at Emblem..that would tie in with the date.

Looks like a Fiat 124 Sport Coupe in the background of that first photo, much nicer than that horrid white thing.

Was it red, Grant? I believe the ex-Naif car is currently in Kent being restored, so it might well have been this one.

I think it was Ed, I had to do a double take to make sure it was not a kit car at first!

I'm trying to get more details from the restorer. Even though modified Ferraris aren't usually my thing, I think in this case the history - and the relative ubiquity of the 308 - makes me hope that they're keeping the custom bits...

WOO308? I’m sure I saw a red RHD Koenig 308 on Instagram in the last few months with this plate where the owner was wondering whether to remove the Koenig bodywork or keep it

Interesting to note that both of the Koenig cars still bear Ferrari badges - presumably it was only later, when some of the conversions became more extreme, that Ferrari insisted on their removal. I think later cars were rebadged 'Koenig ', although presumably that did not stop all owners from reverting to the original!
