Hello Ferrari Friends, I'm looking for a used engine for my 1988 Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet. If you know of anyone having one for sale could you please let me know? Thank you so much in advance! Ciao, Carlos

Need the heads redone. The cylinder deals behind the block need replacing. My mechanic said that it would be best to get a good used engine rather than rebuilt mine since it will cost a lot. If I could get a block that is in good condition I think that would good. Ciao...

Need the heads redone? Both of them? High mileage car? Anyway, unless there's catastrophic damage on both sides I would venture to say that having the heads rebuilt will cost less then removing and replacing the entire motor (which includes all of the "while you're in there" stuff). Also, your replacement motor will probably need its "full service" (belts, cam adjustment, timing, etc.).

    Just a thought.

BTW, it's been said before that the 3.2 bottom end is very stout.

On a Mondial (or a 328 for that matter) I would say minimal. These aren’t investment grade cars, you know.

agreed, do what makes sense and enjoy the car. Keep the old one if you have space if for some reason you need it in the future.
