The CS had an "interesting" symptom the other day...

I was driving normally when an alarm sounds and the F1 warning light comes on. The car subsequently will only shift into 1st and 2nd. I shut the car off, restarted and all was fine. I took the car out today and it did it again.

There was a code in the gearbox ECU. It was P0715. The definition stated "Gearbox input revolutions".

What happened? Is it the sensor part # 168729

Yeah sounds like the is the sensor is kaput, which is common. Part is reasonable too.

I read on a thread that a guy cleaned his and it fixed it. I ordered one, but I figured I would try. It worked for about 20 mins. Part should be here in a few days. Fortunately, it's about a 10 minute fix.

It's a little more then a ten minute fix, but at least it's a common enough issue that is easy to repair inexpensively.

That's about how long it took me to take it out and clean it and put it back. The hard part will be finding where the clip is and disconnecting it!

OK..... It took 30 minutes, and it took care of the problem. Job done!
