The Diablo is more of an event to drive than the F355. The Diablo has quite a bit more power then the F355, but the F355 is more playful and nimble. The F355 is such a great size where the Diablo feels bigger and heavier. The Diablo is more fun on the highway and big sweeping high speed curves, whereas the Ferrari is more fun in tight turns and canyons. They both make an incredible sound but the Ferrari sound is more beautiful to my ear where the Diablo is louder and more mean sounding. My Diablo is an early one so no power steering and all the controls are heavy. It's a manly car to drive and I love it, but the F355 controls just feel perfect. The Diablo is lower than the F355 and I can't take it everywhere if there are steep driveways etc. The F355 has better visibility too. I absolutely love my Diablo, but my F355 is the car I jump in more often. It also adds to the experience that my F355 is a Spider. Another way to think about the difference is one is a sledgehammer the other a scalpel. I consider the Diablo a super car whereas I consider the F355 a sports car. If you are ever in my area (Colorado) we can take them both out back to back and you'll get it right away.
Thank you for the info. I might go to Colorado this year so if I'm in the area I'll take you up on that offer. I sold my 355 thinking I want something newer but I'm not gonna pay 100k for a stick 360 or 130-150k for a stick F430; great cars but for that kind of money I'm getting close to quite a lot of other cars. Specifically, I'm eyeing Gallardos and some V12s from Ferrari and Lamborghini. Regardless, until I drive them I won't have any better clue what I like.

Am I crazy or what I still love the lines of a 456, that one is a really pretty car. Even the 400/412 series gets me excited. But I tend to lean toward cheap and affordable, easy to maintain V-8s ...... That's why I have a 355 spider
84 308 gts 87 328 gts 90 348 tb 98 f355 spider all sold 97 f355 spider current Bought another 355 spider 'cause, as Tomy mentioned, it's cheap and virtually maintenance-free! In addition, it doesn't lead you to buy expensive accessories, like custom exhausts, sport cats, carbon fiber sills, kevlar floor mats, daytona seats or the entire in-stock inventory of Hill Engineering... obviously a wise investment!!

My first Ferrari was a manual 355. It was a magic car! After that I had a 430 Scuderia and now I have a 458.
I have only 1 this far, F355 Berlinetta since 2004. I love this car will never sell her! Not sure if I'll go for a more recent one later, I'll like manual speed too much ^^
