i am wondering what it is like for others trying to get Ferrari service at Tonkin in Wilsonville. They are nice enough when you actually talk to someone but responding or returning calls as promised does not happen. I have had my car in a few times so they know it but there is definitely not the boutique or even basic service level. So my question reflects a recent pattern rather than a single incident. Other dealers for other manufacturers cars seem to have it better sorted.

They did a bunch of work for me a few months ago, and I felt the service was fine. Were you dealing with Cheyenne?

They're not Lexus, let's put it that way... but that's not a bad thing, either. I never spoke to a tech at Lexus, whereas Terry comes out and talks with me, and I really trust him. He also did a good job of figuring out what I actually needed at this service, rather than just doing "everything" including stuff I had done fairly recently.

So, overall, I couldn't be happier with my interactions with their service department. Ferrari service is a little bit different than dealing with a mass-produced automotive appliance like Lexus, so I suppose it depends on your expectations.

RTGT used to do an annual trackday at PIR. At the most recent two events, I was surprised by the super young age (maybe 20) of the mechanics and their lack of professionalism. It didn't fit.

Craig Nelson at the Jag Shop in Portland is a great option.

Terry was at the last track day I was at. My brother managed to blow a seam in the radiator in my 612, and Terry was on hand to see what he could do about it. 160-170 on the back straight, lap after lap, generates some heat! Quite a ride, though... I actually think it was worth it.

I second Craig at the Jag Shop. Does great work, will take time out of his day to talk to you, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg.

I had similar experiences as the OP with RTGT. Very friendly but no return calls and/or follow-ups. They took a month to give me an estimate and they came back with $8k for a subwoofer for my F430.

I believe that there was a bit of turnover in the shop a short while ago?

Can you be more specific? The website still shows the same people that were there a few months ago.

Perhaps my short while ago was longer than I thought? Trying to remember what I was told?

There has been some turnover in the service manager job, but that's all that I know of.
