    Seriously?

You don't like Martin Brundle? The guy knows more F1 than all four NBC guys combined.

Just watched FP1 with commentary including the after show interviews and analysis on the big screen via WatchESPN’s Roku app. None of that was possible with NBC.

Plus GP2 qualifying and races are streamed as well.

I’m happy. I’ll still sign up for the F1 OTT service when liberty launch because I think it will be more interactive it but until then, the ESPN coverage is not bad from where I’m sitting.

I agree. And Sky has one so I don't understand why they cut off as soon as the podium interviews are over. ESPN cuts to some stupid worthless programming anyway. You have a captive audience and you don't need to go commercial free at that point. Seems like easy money to me.

Martin was good when he was at the BBC and Croft wasn't there. Now that he has to entertain someone asking dumb questions constantly his commentary has suffered.

ESPN Chinese GP 2018 - on the grid prior to the race, commercial free race, victory podium coverage, then after race commentary......job well done to ESPN and Mothers.

Couldn’t agree more. This race was very well done flag to flag. Thank you to Mothers and ESPN for making it happen. Very well done!

Wow it keeps getting better. This race they had another 20 minutes of recap.

A lousy start but they really recovered fast.

I think (the TV coverage) is fine. I'm still getting used to Paul DiResta's strategy comments. I don't know if I'm not processing his accent or I'm challenged by the math ("undercut this- overcut that- . ."). But the commercial free aspect has me royally spoiled because I know this is America and it will end soon. Lap it up while you can . . . .

    Pre race, post race good

Not sulking at all, 'it is what it is', and just like most motorsports, it's not
what it used to be. Things change, life goes on...

The post race from China seemed to have an odd moment where there were three broadcasters (Hill, DiResta, and the other guy, I forget his name), and DiResta was going on and on about some part of driving the race, while Damon Hill politely didn't add anything. I was kind of getting the impression that this is odd to have a WORLD CHAMPION silent while the younger guy with less experience does the bulk of the talking.

The replay on Sunday afternoon did have commercial breaks, but they always picked up the race after the breaks exactly where they had left off, so nothing was missed; the advantage of taped coverage. The ad breaks were a bit annoying, but since nothing was missed, I can accept that.
