    Here's my experience:

Clutch wear readings will vary whenever it's pulled but it's a good baseline.

Clutch will usually need replacement around 80% wear.

A good indication it needs replacement is when the transmission starts popping out of gear.

Clutch replacement costs very from dealer to dealer, from indi to a different indi mechanic. My experience and research is between $6K to $10K depending on what other parts needs replacing.

Since labor is very expensive and I hate doing the same job twice is to replace other parts the mechanic feel should be replaced while they're in there and based on their experience.

    Hope that helps.

    Dan

It's a Ferrari, so replace it annually whether it needs it or not. Lol.

Well if you decide to but it I would suggest the dealer replace it seeing as he is recommending it.

70% means its coming...hard to say when...

    What year and model?
    How many miles?
    Original clutch or?

Fwiw I paid $9500 for clutch, TO bearing, sensors, new fly wheel, etc, etc at a Ferrari Dealer (and that reflected a 10% discount). My clutch was at ~60% IIRC and wasn't slipping at all (that was at around 19,000 miles. I got the car with 13,600 and it was at 54%, so it didn't wear much over the 5400 miles I drove it. My car is a CS and each model has shown difference clutch life - likely related to the F1 version therein)...but the position sensor went out and thus they had to go in for that anyways. I know people have done just a clutch and TO bearing at an Indy for $5k, so that's the range ($5k -$10k as someone mentioned above).

Use the search function here and you will find some old threads wherein people mention their % wear at time of replacement. But, its not a science, it varies a lot in terms of both % and miles. I'd just factor in some $$ for the coming clutch job in your market price determination.

Ok, I guess you need to bring it to the attention of the seller and any offer you make would need to factor in the cost of a clutch job.

Did the private seller mention how to proceed if something bigger is found? New clutch kit + labour is like $5-6k.

What I'd do is negotiate lower price and do my "F1 tranny learning" with the already worn clutch. As the learning to drive it usually takes some time and wears the clutch. Any newbie to robot transmission will abuse it, one way or another. Then bite the bullet as I'd learn to drive her.

    Just my 2c :)
