IMO, an enthusiast should *never* order a Ferrari without the shields, as virtually no enthusiast would ever want to buy one used even at a discount without them.
Must be true since even before I joined this forum or even started asking about Ferrari's in general I always wondered why anyone would order a car without them. They just don't look right without them in my humble opinion.
I think shields are highly unattractive and I am ordering my Portofino without them. I would have already bought a California T with HS if I had found a suitable one without shields.
Verde British (British Racing Green). Interior all black for now, considering iroko, cuoio, and charcoal. I will contact you in ten or fifteen years when the DMV has ruled that I am too old to drive.
BRG is gorgeous. Go for the cuoio interior, and I will be more than happy to take it off your hands then! Of course, I too will be in line for a Ferrari autonomous solar-powered human transportation pod. Seriously, that sounds a great spec. Enjoy & post up pics when you can...T
I am trying to spec my Portofino order as well and would like some opinions on whether or not the Magneride and Hi-Fi stereo upgrades are a must, as they add almost 12k to the price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agree. I'd only invest in the stereo upgrade if I were daily driving the Porto. Otherwise, drop the top, find some fun roads, and enjoy the engine sounds...T
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetorheological_fluid In theory, it should be able to respond nearly instantaneously to changes in road conditions, thus improving suspension and handling. T
I agree. Green/cuoio looks best. But I will be installing Daytona-type five-star wheels that are highly polished (close to chrome) and to my eyes the whole package with the top down (which will be most of the time) looks best with a black interior. But I have lots of time to change my mind before the build begins.
Verde Zeltweg is a metallic green that really pops and a historic Ferrari color. Check it out. Or for something that will stop traffic - Azzuro California with full Cuoio.
Magnaride is a significant difference. If your able to test drive a car with and without it you can tell a difference. Honestly it is an option I'd say is worth the price for the upgrade especially if you are going to drive the car and is probably something folks would want in a used car. The HS option is well worth it too in my opinion.
Verde Zeltweg isn't shown as an option for the Portofino. Can you tell me what recent Ferrari offered it so that I can check it out on the Configurator?
I've had the pleasure to see two Azzuro California Ferrari in the flesh. It's an awesome color, especially on a sunny day. T
Verde Zeltweg was ordered as an "out of range" color on a 575M that a friend of mine owned. Attached here is a foto. I'm sure that you can special order any out of range color from the past, it's just that all the colors cannot be loaded on to the configurator. Also attached is a spider in Azzuro California. You say you don't buy used cars but you also say that you bought a used 430. Huh? Which dealer are you working with? Shields aren't mandatory, nor is front lift.
2 weeks since i created this post and ive driven my turbo every night. I'm falling in love with it. Might have to rethink my decision
Cool, the 911TT is a great car you can't go wrong and once you are ready you will definitely get a Portofino (Ferrari) and then you are ruined for life like me where everything else is almost not worth even looking at because you become that addicted. So yes stay away..
