In 2012, something like 60 F40s were brought together at Silverstone. The gathering was a celebration of the mighty car's 25th birthday. My car was one of them. And we set a World Record that day for the most number of F40s in one place.

A few weeks back I met a fellow F50 owner. He also has an F40 and was present that special summer day with his car too.

Seeing so many F40s being driven around the Silverstone GP track was a remarkable sight for the thousands of spectators but the view from the drivers seat was something else. The picture below was taken from my car.

The fellow owner and I spoke at length about that day and we both landed fairly quickly on the love we have for our F50s, and why don't we try and create the same event for the F50, probably at Silverstone, during summer 2019.

This post is to simply gauge reaction, and whether there are enough F50 owners who might be up for it. I've no idea how many we need to set a World Record, but given the relative numbers produced of the F50 versus F40, 25 feels like a decent start (and higher than the pro rata F40 share). It would require a ton of planning and perhaps it's a silly idea, but nothing ventured..............:)

Congratulations for this great picture and I can only imagine that this celebration must have been something really unique. Gathering together at Silverstone 60 F40's was no doubt a great achievement but to do something identical with the F50's, despite being a great idea and initiative, seems to be a harder task, at least at first sight, because a lot less car of this model have been produced. According to a source I looked at the number of F40'S made is 1311 and the number of F50's is only 349.

I’d certainly love to see that and it would be a great reason to travel to Silverstone - alas no F50 myself unfortunately

Thanks. Yes, that's why I think 25 would be a decent goal. That would still be quite a sight (and sound).

Are there maybe a hundred cars in Europe - be an impressive parade

Mods - I think this might be better seen in the F50 section

I think it would be an incredible sight. I hope you can get 50 together. Since there are 4x as many F40s as there are F50s, the turnout probably wouldn't be as high as 60...

Fantastic idea, I will encourage anyone I know who has a car to join this effort!

Personally, I have never seen more than three F50s in one place, unless I'm forgetting an image I have seen. We had 15 cars at our 2009 288 GTO 25th Reunion, a record has yet to be broken which we are slightly proud of given that car's rarity, I daresay 25 F50s would be a spectacular turnout, one for the ages.

The U.K. Ferrari owners club organised that F40 display / track parade that day at the Silverstone Classic . I was (and still am ) a UK FOC helper that day along with 6 or 8 others who regularly help out with the U.K. FOC. The present chairman organised it so it may be worth having a word with the club. We are all at Silverstone again this coming weekend (are you there too ?) so it's worth mentioning it to Gary Dearn if you see him. I remember on the day thinking it was easy to get them to the circuit but then we were faced with 60 / 64 F40,s coming back into the parking area all at the same time. And we only had 1 attempt at getting them all parked up correctly. Didn't want to burn out any clutches getting them in the right position !

It was a fantastic day, and you guys did a brilliant job. I’m unfortunately not a Silverstone this year but if there is sufficient interest from other F50 owners (not just in the U.K.) to the idea I’ll definitely reach out (as a member) to the FOC. Thanks.

I was there in 2012 as it was a double celebration for me, both my all time favourite cars were celebrating their 25th anniversary.

My RS500 cosworth (build 499/500) was on display at Silverstone for its 25th and to see so many F40s was amazing :)

To have a chance to view a bunch of the rarer F50s with be a sight to behold, and I will make sure I am there again and hopefully catch up with some of the owners from fchat if it happens.

An excellent idea. I am in, and can vouch for at least 2 more from our driving group.

The Quail event in 2015 had 5 F50s displayed together for their 20th Anniversary. Wasn't easy to get a great photo of them together, but you can see my attempt below.

In the beginning of this video it shows the 5th one driving off at the end of the event and the other four still in place.

And for good measure, here is another gathering of four from 2004 - this time with some welcomed diversity in the color palette. :)
