I installed the pressure plate from AW Italian and everything works as it should. The guy who resurfaced my flywheel bolted the friction + new pressure plate to the flywheel and used a drill press to press down in the centre of the pressure plate. He pressed down until the friction disk was just loose and locked the drill at that height, he then used feeler gauges to measure the gap between the friction disk and the pressure plate at the 3 points available through the pressure plate. The gap was fairly consistent at the 3 points, in this case 20 thou. It was interesting to see the pressure plate working and how much force was needed to activate it. Luckily putting the flywheel + clutch assembly etc back together is much quicker the 2nd time round! Clutch pedal feels better than it ever was, smoother and lighter.

Were you able to return your other one for credit? Glad that you found and fixed the problem, that's enough to piss off the pope!
