This I agree. But I don't consider the 308 a classic either. Icon? Maybe. But that's because of its TV stardom. They made too many.
Mmmm...no. But nice thought. I suppose you could say the Bandit Screaming Chicken Trans Am is a "classic". It depends on your definition of what classic is. Some confuse classic with iconic. I draw the line between the two. But that's just me.
I guess its a classic as far as recognizable shape, history and ao forth. They did make a lot though. Unlike the TR i don’t think the 308 has aged well. Its shape look old now and i wouldn’t want to own one whilst i like the TR looks. Just me. Still i take a 308 over that 360 kit car anytime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm the only poll that counts. I'm not knocking the 308. I like them. I had 2. The Etype jag is a classic. The 59 Caddy is a classic. The Ferrari GTO, 275 4 cam, and the Lusso are classics. The Countach and Miura are classics. Others are iconic, like the ones well known because they were in movies or such. Is the 308 an Iconic Ferrari? Yes. Classic... well.... And the 360 less. IMO, that's better. Drive it and forget about the rest.
100% agree that the 308 is iconic (Thanks T. Selleck). regarding it as being a classic is truly debatable. I can see why the 308 iconic/classic status is a fine line (sheesh, I am only 49 years old - I've got the damn thing barely by ten years). Can we agree for a car to considered a classic that it has to be at least 50 years old, minimum. I can see why guys in their 30's would consider it a classic (it was produced before they were born or could walk and talk - they probably think the 348 is a classic but not the 355). Age perspective is everything it seems.
