My bad - I misunderstood the system. My words to dm_n_stuff were not intended for public consumption. Apologies to all.
thanks for your apology Vincenzo, it's nice to see that you are able to recognize your errors here as I did. And that being a paid member you are owed no greater treatment than an unpaid one.
you are right cgt000 but please have a look here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/what-do-you-think-about-filling-out-the-profile-and-introducing.567692/ read exactly and handle like the 75% of the voters like. thank you
How much do you think the following mods impact (positively or negatively) a tr price (granted original do not come with the car): -upgraded exhaust (i think adds value) -upgraded brakes with 512 wheels- -painted side skirts -customized stereo rear shelf -upgraded belt system from us to euro -different steering wheel -shields on the fender 2nd part: How much do you think: -a full respray impacts the price? -partial? -minor accident on carfax? -no recent service? With the exception of the upgraded exhaust, because it is easily reversible, I think every item on your lists decreases the value. The exhaust is neutral to minor positive to me and very positive if the original exhaust is included.
Agreed. I would say the above i would take off around a combine 10k for the cosmetic aspects and another 8k if service not done. Those may be the tr driving the price down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That isn't going to drive Testarossa prices down at all. Those are discounts off of the market price based on individual cars. Your wishful thinking on trying to buy a 512TR cheap is getting the better of you. Cars are up due to the robust nature of current economic conditions. If you have cash, wait until the next recession and you'll definitely get a great price. All you have to do is look at how much easy credit has pushed up all asset classes. When it collapses, it will collapse big time....and take all the subprime auto loans and leasing with it. Then finally Bradwilliams ( my personal friend Kurt ) will say..."see...I was right! " lol I'll use my 91 Testarossa as an example Original paint + Miles - - - - Condition ++ Exhaust original + - Service history ++ Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Then we disagree. Not sure why you mention the 512tr i am only referring of tr I personally see and think a modded tr is not selling equally well. See those. 2 below. They have been for sale for 2 years. Still not have moved whilst plenty have. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
150k for a 512 tr-is btw not cheap. One of our good Members here just bought one with 30k or so miles. That’s their true selling price with that mileage in the USA ... in euroe even cheaper ask sixcarbs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You are correct on both accounts. A modded tr is not selling ...because it's modded! ....not indicative of general Testarossa pricing trends. The 30k 512TR is cheaper because....it has 30k miles. We all know that anything over 10k miles on any exotic will start to play as a depreciating factor. If you really want to see price drops, check out the Lamborghini Aventador. It keeps coming down like a stone while Murcielago and LP640 pricing are stable and fully depreciated. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I would only consider a murcielago stick I dont mind a bit of miles, those cars are meant to be driven just like urs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would prefer a Murcielago stick as well but a Murcielago LP640 Roadster stick is $465k currently. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I have wondered much about these items that you bring up since the TR that I purchased had these items installed by the previous owner. This is what I believe: -upgraded exhaust (i think adds value also) -upgraded brakes with 512 wheels - (I think it adds value and a larger 18" is needed with upgraded brakes) -painted side skirts - (I think it detracts value) -customized stereo rear shelf - (I think it detracts value and I am in the process of getting rid of mine) -upgraded belt system from us to euro - (I don't think it matters, however mine is a 1986 without the mouse) -different steering wheel - (I think it detracts value. I just spent $2.5k and purchased a new in package TR steering wheel to get it back to original) -shields on the fender - (I think it is neutral, some love and and some hate it. I left mine since I like it) 2nd part: How much do you think: -a full respray impacts the price? - (I think it may be perceived negatively because someone will wonder why a full respray was needed) -partial? (I think its neutral if done correctly. Parts of mine were resprayed and I am having it corrected since not perfect) -minor accident on carfax? (Definitely takes value down) -no recent service? (Big negative having just gone through one. The final price tag was more than the brand new Jetta that I bought for my 16 year old)
when i was looking for another exotic i found some were 20k and more less than the one i was looking at,i went for the one with records and origianlity .i fi would of bought one 85/90k chances are will have to put 10/20k into it and didnt want one that needs to go in for service before i enjoy the car wanted it delivered and enjoy .
hurry up and go find a 512 tr find one and make an offer and wait for the counter so we can have a new discussion lol
Here's a nice yellow one: http://www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/2105-Ferrari-Testarossa-4.9%20Liter%20Flat-12

These cars are extremely rare! Good luck finding one for less. Got me a 2005 Murci Roadster manual gated 6 speed. Nothing like it!!
