What if we google search certain models and divide by number of years since release. That should indicate how frequently the model is referenced which in my definition would tell which is the most classic

The 308 is indeed a classic. It was Ferrari back in the day. No other car other then the Countach made such an impact for a car company. Possible you could throw the 63-67 corvette in there as well.

It was the car that brought Ferrari to the masses. It was the car that brought a beautiful design to the public. It put Ferrari on the map in North america. If that does not define a classic, I don' know what does. Production numbers be damnd. How many 308's are left? It is still a rare car when compared to the others.

We as enthuists forget how little in comparison to others there actually are. We are surrounded by them everyday. We forget we are very fortunate to be in this market of car no matter how many where built. The 308 is the definition of classic..

Classic? If the 308 isn't then nothing else is either!

Even more so without the big bumpers/emission control/big mirrors/turn signals etc.

[IMG]Same Vitaloni mirror on the early 308...how cool is that?

    i do.
as i said, it is easy to just disagree with the statement.
if he is so adamantly opposed to the car being a classic, then he surely must have a different definition of what a classic is, than the other 95% of us on this site.....and therefore it would be nice to know what it is after all.

i started the thread and poll, and i want to know.

Well I guess I really don't care. I owned a 1959 250GT and was told it was not a significant Ferrari. Well we all now now the fact of that so really.....who gives a ****.

People say there were a lot of them made and maybe by Ferrari standards thats the case. But I would say they are a rare car.
I have a 328 that I have owned now for almost a year. Previously I owned a 308 for close to 6 years and I sold that car in 2006. I live in Indiana and between 2006 and when I bought my 328 I did not see one 308/328 on the roads.

well i guess the mayor does not have an alternative definition of a 'classic' that he would like to submit and defend.

time will tell... it was only a couple of years ago that a Fiat won some big prize at PB (or maybe it was Amelia) - who would have imagined that 20 years ago?
