    Pilot was Bob Grossmam

    #3223Gt was born with Italian stripe and no rear spoiler, but you know that perfectly.

    3223GT was kept by Ferrari for testing and development after the Press Conference where changes were made to it including the body. It was repainted Blu Gentiana with white stripe and later sold to Chinetti. 3223GT's first race was at Bridgehampton on September 16th 1962. Number 57 driven by Ed Hugus and Charlie Hayes. 3rd OA 2nd IC.

    Bob Wallace in the brown overall and Carlo Mario Abate at the wheel. Scarfiotti on the left standing on the wall, Tavano on the right with helmet. 15-16 June 1963, the brand new #20 Ferrari 250 GTO (c/n 4757GT) got entered in Le Mans for Abate/Tavano. Tavano was since 1956 an experienced ‘habitué’ at La Sarthe. The car was FQ IC (under 3 litre) but finally a DNF, after Tavano lead temporary the GT-class on sensational 3rd OA position! But when Abate took over, he lost control at Maison Blanche in the 7th hour (lap 106), leaving the track and destroying the right front axle.
