Well he stood there at least. Doubt that he was driving it. :) He was about 86, could he even get in the car?

Yea, unless they were sending right hand drive cars to the US the picture doesn't imply that Enzo was the driver. Cool commercial though, I had never seen it before, Thanks for posting.

Why do I get the feeling it should be "because Mr Ferrari was paid to want it that way..."

That commercial aired during the superbowl in Jan 1984.

I saw it then and about **** myself. Now keep in mind this was, what, a good 13 or so years before the internet got started on a significant level so I had NO way of every seeing that commercial again. Back around 2000 I started searching ebay, etc for a copy of that game on VHS tape to try to see it again. No luck, but it wasn't for lack of effort. I actually bought a couple of copies but they were edited. I wanted to see it again THAT bad. I was actually beginning to think I dreamt it or something.

    Then came Youtube...

That’s so interesting about seeing the commercial once. It’s true how back then if you missed something , a show, a sporting event, a funny or interesting commercial. You didn’t get a chance to see it again. When I was younger I used to to search so hard to try and find old Ali fights on VHS or if by chance they would do old replays of them on ESPN. If I knew it was coming on I was making damn sure I was in front of that TV to see “The Thrilla in Manila” or “The Ruble in the jungle “ because up to that point I had only seen clips or photos of it. Now with YouTube you can find almost anything. Good times to be alive !!

I always thought he drove the Centoventotto model. Loved my dark blue 1116 cc screamer, it wanted revs all the time, same as the Q.V. ;)
