I have thought of just masking off the area a spraying the grills. Some of the grills look too difficult to remove.

I think your car would look fantastic with black grills!

I'm afraid just masking off the grills and painting there would be a chance of over spray and a tapeline.

+1 They can be easily removed, no? If so, drive around with them for a month or so, and if you decide they ain't for you, remove them. I think it's pretty sharp looking.

JMO but I wouldn’t paint the grilles black, the metal mesh finish looks great.

The paint protection film would have to be removed and reapplied. I like both looks but am going to live with the clean lines of Pininfarina for a few months before I make a decision.

Regarding the grills, I still might paint them black - if I go with the shields.

FYI - By the time I decide on the shields, Carnut will have gone through 3 to 4 cars

CF shields are more discreet then original, my wife 's Lusso will have them installed as soon as it arrives next month.
Better for a daily driver in Chicago, Yellow shields are just too visible and recognizable.
