Drove my spider today. Backed up and the camera is near useless. So i looked over my shoulder. What a novel idea! Granted i am tall but have the low race seats. Not an issue.
I found a 2016 that appears to be selling at MSRP. Good spec, nothing bad about the car so finally they are getting there but you would think with 97 on the market that prices would soften a little faster. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-2017-Ferrari-488-Spider-t70064#listing=201196835
I believe the rear camera is required by law now, but they definitely aren't going to give you it for free lol.
Yes! I just specced a new 488 gtb and they mandated that I get the camera. I tried to delete it and couldn’t. $2700
just sold my 2017 blu corsa spider thru dealer for 5k less than i paid for it after 4500 miles. preferred better but I'm fine with it.
You did well. I'm looking at 488 Spiders with under 1000 miles that are at or below MSRP. Color, as always, seems to make a big difference. David
Correct. getting another spider ahead of a Pista but dealer told me to steer clear of blu corsa, as it is supposedly tougher to resell even though it was the launch color and looks spectacular on the spider. So now getting titanio, a far less exciting but reportedly safer resale choice. Im listening to the dealer but my gut tells me otherwise. I had signed up for another blu corsa but dealer strongly suggested otherwise. I will sell it before 5k miles. So be an interesting resale science experiment with me as guppy
Image Unavailable, Please Login Good call bro , I just traded my new 488 spider for all 15 of these Toyota’s and got 15 free cameras.
I can tell you how that ends -- you'll lose more and it will be harder to sell. Silvers are one of the worst possible colors for resale when it comes to exotics. They always have lower prices. If resale is your concern, go Resale Red or black.
Actual cost of a back up camera: $11 Actual mark up of a back up camera in a Ferrari: Priceless. But then we pay $2000 for two shields costing 4 bucks each and $1800 to paint 4 calipers red instead of black. Picking up a different the spray can must be pretty expensive in Italy.
you appear to speak from authority, but reviewing your posts, you have never owned a Ferrari and therefore have never sold one. Instead, each of your posts is quite negative about the brand. Thanks for being the heckler, but this is a ferrari blog, not Audi.
You don't need to buy and sell Ferraris to follow prices and know that silver is not a popular exotic color on mid-engine cars. This is Exotics 101 stuff. There is a reason that silver is not a super popular color and it's not because it's such an expensive paint option. Go to Cars.com and look at silver cars vs red or black. And keep in mind many of the "grey" cars are more or less black (Nero).
sorry, must take what you say with a grain of salt, as you have zero experience and are personally unfamiliar with Ferrari sale or resale. following cars.com website hardly makes you an authority. unless you are a dealer or have owned and sold a Ferrari, stick what you know, not what you read on the internet.
We shouldn't complain. At least Rosso Corsa is still N/C I think for McLaren only 2 colors are N/C. Every other color cost something more. Ferrari is losing money. Imagine how much they could make if they charged 5 grand for every paint job of Rossa Corsa.
Not wanting to step on anyone's toes - however I have own(ed) a few exotics. Sold a few as well. It's funny how on some brands the silver based colors work well on resale. On the F cars I'd say maybe not so much. Eg F car color Grigio seems to have decent resale but not sure on actual silver Agree that red resells well. However I've always wondered how resale is on yellow on F cars? Personally I love that Colour, does anyone have experience on the yellow? Also the Speciale Blue with white stripes seems very popular. I always thought that I should own a yellow Ferrari once in my life.... until it was time to pull the trigger. Blue is the new red!! David
It's not F cars as a whole, but certain models. You'll see way more grigio or silver or grey FFs and Lussos than you will red ones. I'd probably say a silver FF will have more demand in muted colors given the nature of the car. It's just a different class of car. You'll rarely find yellow FFs. F12 on the other hand is a pretty health mix of the basic colors. If I wanted to easily sell a rear-mid V8 Ferrari, I'd go red or black. Black sells pretty easily on just about any car on the planet and red is the Ferrari color.
