Hey everyone! So, I don't like taking my car places where I need to entrust it to someone else (valets, body shops, etc). What are your thoughts on disabling / removing one of the fuel pump relays so that the engine only runs on 1 bank? In theory the less power would take away the incentive to go for a joy ride? I think disabling a fuel pump won't cause any damage to the engine (vs disabling the ignition system on one side) because the engine ECUs will still think it's running properly, albeit lean on one bank? What are you guys thoughts? Sent from my Moto Z2 Play using Tapatalk
I don't like it. I don't like anything that will intentionally make your engine run improperly. I am not a mechanic but if someone was joyriding the car in that state couldn't they do even more damage by flooring it with only one bank working and the other one just along for the ride?
I think u have a problem lol Why would u do that? Anywhere i would take mine i would not valet it. I’d say here is ur tip and I’m parking it in the front. Most valet were too scared to drive it and dammage it anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LOL hey in theory it'd work! I have a thing with people other than myself driving my cars. Especially people I don't know.
And btw, a Valet Switch isn't unheard of: Corvette: http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2014/Aug/0818-corvette.html Hellcat: https://www.torquenews.com/106/dodge-uses-two-keys-and-valet-mode-limit-challenger-srt-hellcat Hell, even VWs and Nissan Leafs?!? https://www.autobytel.com/car-buying-guides/features/10-cars-with-valet-mode-131941/
I give the valet a twenty and self park. If its super swanky, ill hand a fiddy. Nobody drives my car except me. Ever.
