Whining that a car isn't perfect is how cars get better when they are not perfect. No whine, no improvement.

Hamilton changed a lot last season, what I hear from him is very different this season.

I would say he has both gained something, and lost something else in its place.

He is still very much a top driver, just different in where he will do well or not as well.

Until somebody beats his total of poles and race wins, . . . . yeah . . . He IS the top driver. Let's take a quick glance at the current championship standings . . . . well, well, well . . . what do you know?

That said, I hope Ferrari and Vettel will overtake him soon.

Interesting that you only say that "he won, got pole...." without even mentioning Mercedes as it was only him...But at the same time you are talking about "Ferrari and Vettel" ;)
Why is Lewis "achievement" always separated from Mercedes, the marque actually did win much more races and poles than Lewis did ;)

Sure. And, over the course of history, so has Ferrari.

How epic Schumacher is, and how he’d beat both of them in any of his race cars with one hand tied behind his back, a big fat cigar in the other, and a ten second delayed start........... couple of dopey kids that have the mental fortitude of a custard pie

But when Hamilton fanboys talk about Lewis´accomplishments they do not mention Mercedes as if the achievements have nothing to do with the car. And you did exactly the same...why?

Part of the brilliance of a champion racing car driver is the ability to make decisions regarding team choices. That's just understood. Well, maybe not by Alonso . .

Come on...this is the lamest argument trying to give a driver credit for a dominant car he absolutely did nothing except signing a contract....
It is not like Lewis did the right choice every year, he changed ONCE from a semi Mercedes works team loosing the support by the factory to the full Mercedes works team!!! Since then he is sitting in the most dominant car ever...Don´t make it sound like Lewis did it as Fangio every year....

So, then ask yourself why Mercedes made a point of recruiting Hamilton when, because of their impending dominance, could have recruited anyone. My contention is they wanted the best.

He was the only one of the perceived better drivers free at the time, and mclaren were pissed off with his whining. At the time, Vettel was win8ng in his red bull every race, Ricciardo was a glint in horners eye, Max was still in diapers, Alonso had committed himself to ferrari believing they might one day come to build a good car. He was the only one looking

So, you agree he was the top choice available? OK . . . I'm good with that. It's worked well for both.

No one here argues he isn’t one of the top eight fastest drivers on the grid currently. He isn’t The Fastest, and he is not the most complete, but he is fast

Can you name a man that has a record in F1 with more consistency, more one-lap qualifying speed sucesses, or more wins from pole? LOL
    1. Lewis passed Michael Schumacher record today, earning points in 30 races in a row?
    2. Lewis beat Schumacher record of 68 poles (Lewis = 74).
    3. Lewis beats Michael Schumacher’s record with 41 wins from pole.
    4. Michael Schumacher is the gold standard at F-chat, yet Lewis sucks. LOL

So generous of you to include the all time pole winner, 2nd all time race winner in the top 8 on the current grid, haha. :D

Anyway...it's no mystery why the best of the best...Fangio, Clark, Prost, Senna, Schumacher, Hamilton...often find their way into exquisite machinery.

The same could be said about Ferrari hiring Vettel or McLaren hiring Alonso....they wanted to have the best as well but in contrary to Mercedes they were not able to build a car like that...but why is that Lewis achievement???

He was in the only car capable of outright victories for four seasons, 2014 thru 2017, and there are almost twice the races and poles, and two and half times the points available nowadays, if he and Vettel hadn’t won a proportion more races than people from the past, I’d be surprised. Doesn’t mean he is the best ever, schumi is the best ever, and Alonso the best on the grid today

When he wasn’t in the car of the field, he was beaten by his teammates on many occasions, that didn’t happen to the best drivers, they always beat their teammates regardless of the car. He got beaten by Rosberg, who Elton’s fans tell us is rubbish, and he almost lost the title to him on two other occasions where he eventually got away with it withthe input and bias of Wolff and Lauda. Take him out of the Mercedes and put him in any other car the last five years, he’d be nowhere, merely among the top teams, he wouldn’t have won a thing just the same as anyone else.

Don’t give me all the ******** about Ricci winning one, or Vettel winning some, when the Mercedes has issues, someo;e else had the odd chance in the last four years, but the FIA soon made sure that Mercedes problems became someone else’s and they got straight back to the front of the field, while developments and innovations of anyone else got banned or watered down

LOLOLO...what is Elton doing in the same sentence than all those great drivers? Trying to learn something? He won't, he would need as lot more talent to do so!

Hamilton is so far in Vettel head he could drive the car for him LOL! Just like last year Vettel doesn't compare to Hamilton in mental strength. The 2017 WDC was Vettel's to win and Hamilton stole it from him with his brilliant racing and mental tough t fight on even though he was 20 plus points down. Do you really think Vettel can do this now that Hamilton has taken the lead?

I think he's very weak..for example, he doesn't seem to be able to decide between Nicole and Conchita! You can see Nicole grabing him as he tries to let go in order to reach conchita!

When you think the forum can't go any lower and then this happens...

This post still doesn't answer the question now that Hamilton gotten and has extended his lead in the WDC do you think Vettel has the mental fortitude to take it from him? I think not LOL!
