So they can take their current PU, run the crap out of it, blow it up...and put a new PU in and it doesn't count as one of the three allocated? So they can start Monaco with a brand new PU or gearbox and it doesn't count as one used up?

I don't know the right answer here, but it seems like while they might be able to run new engines in testing, they couldn't keep them in the car for races without them counting as one of the engines they are allowed for the year.

As far as I know, the engines used in these tests don't count for the three units allocation. And of course they don't test with the sane engines they race to not put unnecesary mileage in them.

I wonder if Bottas did his time before or after Giovinazzi? Would not have looked good to have your opponents reserve driver best your #2.

Wouldn't really have "bested" him unfortunately due to the tire difference.

Probably set up problems indeed. Still If that were the case Merc should be very worried if Ferrari with set up problems with said race pace being bad cause of that and still be close means Ferrari still have the ability to catch up and beat them.
