    So a friend here in Florida finances a 2015 Mercedes from independent used car dealer, Which is now out of business. He goes to trade in car, and finds out that vin # plate on dash does not match vin # on Door Jam Decal or title. Owes 6K to finance company , they want their money, and are telling him, they are not responsible for Vin# problem. He has taken car to DMV , car is not reported stolen, but has gotten no help.
    Any Similar situations ? any advice ?

    If con plate is part of dash assembly then perhaps it was replaced. I would look for other Vin locations on the car such as chassis, engine etc
