GTC4Lusso (V12) still there in France in the configurator; in the German ferrari.com website it seems all configurators have been removed for all cars - maybe waiting for a next release.
ok these are good news I guess, strange that for the Lusso T it is directly on the website. Sorry for the confusion guys!
I was told 2018 will be the last year for the V12 Lusso in North America several months ago, not sure if it’s been extended recently.
Extremely hard to get but they have one in October last I heard.. but if you want a T they have a bunch. Ferrari is having a hard time with T and thats from Sergio's mouth not mine .
Having a hard time building them I think he must mean, if not, where is mine ?? Come on Sergio, pull your finger out !
If they are stopping, the August "let's all go to the seaside" break in Italy ought be the obvious time. Then they can rejig the line. In Australia, you haven't been able to order a new one for a couple of months now.
That would make sense. There must be a million other threads on the FUV, but I am one of those keen as a bean to see what they will bring out.
I was told available through 19, so not sure why the issues, indeed I have a car coming next year. Even when they launch a new car there is 12 months before you see one anyway.
I went another spirited drive today (early morning) long weekend so no traffic. I am not sure what has happened but I feel like after 2500km on the odo the car has just come to life. Maybe its me knowing it better or being more confident but the engine, the revs, the overall shifting and just handling of the car blew me away today. Once I parked it I walked back into the house just shaking my head in amazement, its almost like it gets better ever time - today it really brought out the ferocious savage V12 and 4WD/S incredible! I have driven and been driven in some pretty amazing normal series cars and nothing comes close to this cars sheer complete package of capabilities.
I specced out a Lusso last week. Still trying to decide between the 12 and 8. So I'm going to drive them back to back this week before finalizing my order. But there is no problem ordering either version now and I was told that I should receive it around 4 months later. Further, I was told that if I want to wait 6 months to order around the end of the year that would be fine as well. Lots of silly rumors around.
Nice and enjoy the process, surprisingly they are very different cars - looking forward to your selection and feedback.
Learned today the Lusso V12 will be built thru the end of 2018, some being 2019 models. No new V12 Lussos after Dec 2018.
So I just drove both cars. It's a much more amazing car than I had anticipated. I basically drove around each car in Beverly Hills rush hour traffic for 15 mins each and so there wasn't an opportunity to test out the car on twisty roads. So, unfortunately, I can't comment on riving dynamics other than straight line driving. But I did get to punch both cars and rev them out to the redline a few times each. A few impressions: The interior is elegant but rather Spartan. Unlike a Mercedes S or other car in that class, there's not a million buttons all over the place. The car has exactly what you need and nothing more. It basically feels like you're sitting in a 488 cockpit. The brakes are right off the 488 - 3rd gen carbon ceramic. They are touchy, amazing brakes. Like throwing out an anchor into the concrete. Even better than the brakes on a 911 Turbo S, which is my current daily. While it's a large car (at least in comparison to the cars I'm used to driving) it sure doesn't feel like it. There's more of a concern about where you are in the lane or going around corners than in a smaller car. But it feels nimble and the steering feels light. The 8T feels lighter than the 12 and that's because it is - 175 lbs lighter and 2 wheel drive. I hate to say it but the 8T is the superior handling car and it feels more sporty. The visibility leaves something to be desired but I wouldn't call it awful by any means. The rear window is small. Passenger side visibility is good out the passenger rear window. But it's bad on the driver's side. You pretty much are just limited to the side view mirror. And now for the good stuff - The 8T is a monster of an engine. It revs to redline immediately, almost like a 488. You need the LED shift light steering wheel because you get to redline so fast in first gear. And the exhaust note is awesome and angry, reminiscent of my 16M at low revs in a way. There is no hint that you're driving a turbocharged car. The exhaust valves open almost immediately after idle (I think 2k but maybe 2500 RPM) and everyone turns to see what's coming. There is so much torque there that it's absolutely no problem to smoke the tires off the line (and I did couple times). Unlike a Turbo 911 or Panamera, Ferrari left some more of the fun factor in the car and so the back end can easily fishtail off the line. I drove the V12 next. The V12 feels more like a muscle car compared to the 8T, which feels more like a modern sports car. It's a brute that takes a second to spool up and then blasts you off in a mad furry of torque. As you might expect, there's not quite as much power right off the line. The power comes on in more of a push and then a rush, like you'd expect from a naturally aspirated car. That combined with 4 wheel drive, makes it harder to break the tires, but of course you still can just not to the same degree as the 8T. The power in the 8T was more usable in city driving than the 12. And of course the exhaust note is a heavenly Ferrari V12 racecar sound that is much more elegant than the 8T angry exhaust note. Guess which one I'm getting? LOL
Not doubting what you’re relaying just wondering why would they do that especially Since V8’s aren’t selling well
Are you talking worldwide or just US market? Unless I’m wrong U.K. dealers have got their allocations coming through for 2019 so I really don’t think they’re stopping V12 Lusso anytime soon.
Living in sunny California makes it more difficult to choose, here in Chicago there was no doubt at all, 4WD is simply essential for a car to be used year round.
Personally I would've gone for the V12. Why? I know looks are subjective, but nothing beats this perfection. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can order a V8 or V12 Lusso for next year no problem in UK. Told production will go to end of 2019. As it is UK, and replacement we all assume the FUV , the intro of new models normally lags behind others, so maybe that is why. I am undecided on which engine, most probably the V8 as I like , as others point out, the instant performance at day to day speeds, whilst a V12 is god ( I will have the 812) the V8 is damn impressive, It is a 488 estate car. But will the FUV have a V12 ????? More likely the V8 with hybrid I am guessing, and I am guessing. So then the V12 Lusso could be a last practical V12. Who knows !!!!
