This is the Tyrrell P34; one of my favourite drawings. This car is among the best and not because it was very competitive (30 races, 1 win, 1 pole, 3 fastest laps), but because it was completely different from all the other cars. It was my first work for a sponsor - Ken Tyrrell commissioned the work for Elf.

My favorite? The Eagle-Weslake Mk. 1, the car that won Spa and is often referred to (incorrectly) as the T1G.

P34...innovation at its finest. This is where f1 needs to be again. Innovation, garagistas, independent teams being competitive. Such a shame.

Love this one (with the ovoid side intakes), as well as the Ferrari 641/642, F1/87, the Lotus 79, and the Jordan 191.

Too many that I like!! P34 is cool too!

In 1974, these cars dominated the USGP at Watkins Glen. Reutemann won in car #7 while Pace came second in car #8. James Hunt was a distant third in the Hesketh. I was there . . . . so was 375+.

Reutemann was flawless that day but didn't Hunt run 2nd for much of the race?

    I have 5 favorite F-1 cars:

    1. 1966 Ferrari 312 - early version that Surtees used to win at Spa
    2. 1976 Ferrari 312T2 - just as pretty as they can get
    3. 1970 Matra MS 120B early version
    4. 1982 Ferrari 126c2 -
    5 1990 Ferrari 641 - should have won the world championship ...

Well, to nitpick (slightly) don't forget there was also a third Brabham BT44 in that race, and it collected the 5th place, driven by John Watson: the one of the Hexagon team.
The BT44 really came into its own during the second part of the 1974 season: the three cars were on the first two rows at Monza that year...
