And now that I think about it, what they were thinking wasn't part of the point. They were sitting upright in their beds, with their smoke detectors going off. That's fact. In many cases, they were in first floor rooms with windows next to their beds, yet they just sat there until the smoke overcame them. Why is what they were thinking even part of this? Premeditated murder I agree with you; biggest problem in Aus would be domestic violence, or kids getting carried away, not premeditated murder. Not to mention the risks of gangs as per US and elsewhwere. That's where our gun laws save many lives; a bit ironic since yes the Tas nutter would have found an alternative no doubt. Would he have achieved such a high mortality rate without the auto gun?
