Guys. this thread is in the Aussie section, where we generally have a somewhat loosey-goosey approach, but . . . personal attacks are still a TOU violation. To this point, there haven't been any bans issued by me, but if I get any further reports of personal attacks, that will change. So, dial it back. Dave

Whether or not there is a net positive or net negative effect is not in question (yet). First, there must be agreement or argument of the fact I posted. To go onto other issues is diversion. You're attempting to disprove my assertion by introducing something outside the scope of my assertion. It's a logical fallacy.
Well, I don't agree that what you posted is rational, even if it's a fact. Why? Because it's like saying I should be allowed to drive on the footpath because I'm less likely to crash into another car so it's safer for me. It's true, but the cost to others outweighs the benefit to me.
C'mon, doesn't work that way, and you know it. Guys get insulted, rules get busted, reports get made, mods take a look, actions are taken, or not, depending on the legitimacy of the complaint. D
There is a difference between someone breaking the rules and saying, "I can't help myself, so please, step in and stop me for me."
Reporting someone for breaking the rules is analogous to calling in the police when a crime has been committed. Asking for the thread to be shut down because you can't help but post in it is analogous to asking the government to outlaw alcohol because you can't stop yourself from drinking. But back to the actual discussion at hand... Do you believe man has an unalienable right to life and liberty?
I asked for it to be closed and I haven't posted in reply to your one sided posts. Time for you to go back where you came from. Or as we say here; FO.
Have civilized conversations, you mean? Yeah, I've noticed that. What is so difficult about having a conversation without resorting to name calling? If men (that means all members of mankind, for the rest of the English speaking world) have the unalienable right to life and liberty, does it not follow that their lives are therefore their own, and that they therefore have the unalienable right to defend themselves from those who would take their lives or their liberty without due process?
Bill, YOU are the one who posts unsupported comments and lies - prove any one else here has done as you have and claimed facts not sported by the evidence. You have obfuscated, wriggled, and straight out LIED? Here is the only fact that counts - school shootings since 2009: US 280 Aus zero. End of discussion.
We don’t report people here Poopsie. Perhaps you should go back to being an unpublished author, or failed businessman/mechanic. If you can’t give it or take it, you’re in the wrong section. Do us all a favor and go back to your thesaurus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Erm, I guess that family doesn't count, eh? Weren't Australian enough? As for the US figures, that number is as fake as the Daytona Spider on Miami Vice. Old men committing suicide in the parking lot, or a drug deal gone bad on the sidewalk are not "School Shootings." https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/no-there-havent-been-18-school-shooting-in-2018-that-number-is-flat-wrong/2018/02/15/65b6cf72-1264-11e8-8ea1-c1d91fcec3fe_story.html?utm_term=.7795497cd0d2
Hey, if I over generalized, I apologize... but with all the argumentum ad hominem in so many posts, I have trouble keeping up with who is insulting whom.
