Didn't say anything about you two having any double standards. My reply was directed at Steve355F1 who was the one that was telling users to keep any gun talk to the subscribed forums. That might very well be, but the rule against bypassing the profanity filter has nothing to do with whether the parties involved take offense. If Greg were to have flashed a pic of his wee-wee at Horse, Horse might not take offense, but the pic would be deleted by the mods regardless. Don't need to, I was here then.
Fair enough mate, you've been a protector of this section for a long time and I for one appreciated it ............... but you are esoteric
Good, then you should understand where we're coming from The poms are bigger sooks than us and packed up their cricket bat and balls and left ..... we prefer to stay and get a solution If it's just the profanity filter then we should play by the rules, we've been given latitude and abused it, but not in an offensive way Can we still say FOx355CH ?
BTW I tried calling you but they mustn't have turned the electricity on yet You guys do have electricity ??
Hold it, I think ffs is bypassing the filter and your Airbus captains have to play it straight from now on And you leave the poor air dirt jockey alone you bully ;p
Like Wax keeps on saying, "**** it, just say it". You all know how the words are supposed to be spelled, just spell them correctly and you won't have to think about it. TLAs are gray area, like WTF and FFS, but often given a pass if the context is reasonably interpreted as incidental. We prefer they not be used as they tend to set an example for others to start adding a few more letters on the next time, but we try not to be anal about it. Where users get in trouble is changing a letter or three, which gets taken as deliberately bypassing the filter. Also, if you use profanity in a deliberately offensive way, like "shut the **** up, you *******" then it's the attack that actually gets a user in trouble, not the profanity.
What shouldn't be tolerated is some random idiot coming into this section baiting people like a troll and then reporting them to the mods when they come back at him......
Be fair. Most users don't know that this section has a different set of rules. Users are used to us telling them in all other subforums that they're expected to report or ignore confrontations and they'll only get in trouble if they respond in kind.
Maybe post a permanent sticky warning at the top of the Aussie sub forums warning newcomers venturing into the section especially if they are going to post total BS......
