I am concerned that leaving ignition for long period without engine running may damage the car or at least flatten the battery. Is it OK to sit for an hour in the car listening to the radio.

I have always been under the impression that it will, but I do not know for certain, so I shall be interested to see what other responses you get to your query.

    Hi,

I don't know but have been wondering the same. In classic cars with a traditional coil you do not want to do that, you can fry or boil the coil. But not for listening to rhe radio but some debugging on those it's fairly easy to disconnect the fuel pump and coil. On the 456 not so, but I don't know if it would harm anything to have the ignition on for an hour.

    Cheers!

Why on earth would you leave the ign on in your car for an hour to listen to the radio? Buy yourself a Bluetooth speaker and stream your music from your phone.
