First time I've ever experienced a dead battery on my 612. I've gone 3-4 weeks max without driving it but typically have never had an issue, even though I've never used a tender.

Mine is an 09 (OTO) and looks like this. I own a regular old Sears 12V charger but not sure what the best course of action is here. Should I remove the battery and just hook up the alligator clips to each terminal old school style and charge it, or charge it some other way? If so, how is it done? I don't think the vehicle came with a tender or any Ferrari specific charging cables, so anything I would need I would need to run out and get. Shame it always happens on a nice long weekend! First world problems lol. It is in my garage at home, had to manually open the trunk (thanks all for the good threads on that).

Thank you and hope you are all enjoying this Memorial Day weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Mine is on a “battery tender”
So are motorcycles, boats, ohv, Morgan and lawn mower
No good reason to buy an expensive maintainer that I know

Eric, do what I did and get yourself a CTEK trickle charger. I went for the CTEK MXS 5.0.

You can then get an adaptor such as the one here:
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ctek-Ferrari-Battery-Charger-Conditioner-Adapter-Cable-4-pin-Type/182967556284?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
which allows you to directly plug the CTEK charger into your in built charging socket (the odd shaped female end socket which has a semicircular shaped curved top and a straight edge at the bottom). You will see it in the bottom half of your photo, just next to the battery closest to the trunk lid opening.

Then plug yourself in whenever you park up and you should never miss out on a long weekend again! The CTEK should even charge your battery from dead so will rescue you from the current predicament too, as well as keep you maintained in the future.

I can confirm that the MXS 5 will recharge from dead using the charging socket..

Thanks for the advice. Bought the same charger with adapter pack on ebay for $152 total. :)
