Dear John, Over fifty years ago I drove it from coast to coast and I did cross the continental divide in New Mexico on old Route 66 in a blinding blizzard, fearfully watching the oil temperature gauge slowly drop. Any slight uphill incline and the hard racing tires would start to spin and the car would head for the shoulder. That was not fun and I do not plan on trying it again, thank you. Beside that, I was young and foolish then, now not so young and hopefully not so foolish. This time it will be in a commercial hauler and he is taking the southern route 10 to avoid any chancy weather. Best regards, Robert
Dear Dinosaur followers, Fifty seven years ago today I wrote two checks totaling $2,200.00 having put down a $25 deposit two weeks earlier and I became a Ferrari owner. Still have it today. Dear Dinosaur followers, A few weeks ago I was contacted by Eric Green from the Albuquerque TV station KOAT Channel 7 about his ongoing series entitled "Eric's Auto Ambush" where while driving around New Mexico he spots interesting cars, stops them and asks whether they would like to take about their car. He noted that obviously his chances of spotting my car on the highway were slight but he would like to visit and see the car. Yesterday on the evening news the resulting video was played and I thought I would post the link to the YouTube version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2nhyy1Bb4I Best regards, Robert
I bet most other drivers on the road don't realise that it's a beautiful, original Ferrari with a great race history, and assume it must be a kit-car or a replica being driven on the road. A fabulous looking car, and a superbly executed restoration! (I am now green with envy! )
Dear Tom, Longer versions of the same story can be seen at: http://youtu.be/HpfJ1b-X7p4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CYjfNwVDpU Happy that you liked the short newscast. Best regards, Robert
Dear Dinosaur followers,, This morning the count of the number of views of the Petrolicious video about my car reached the 200,000 mark! That is about 190,000 more than I ever expected. Folks must like blue. Best regards, Robert
Dear Dinosaur followers, Updated my cell phone and in going through the "clear out the trash" process I came across an nice photo. It was an early morning start to get to the Santa Fe Cars and Coffee a couple of months back. Think you will like it. Best regards, Robert https://www.dropbox.com/s/iharxhcsic1i034/IMG_1893.JPG?dl=0
Beautiful! I know you will, but do drive it whenever possible. Thank you for sharing and thanks for taking it outside on the road where it probably wants to be
Surprised to see you're selling the Mondial. I hope the new custodian appreciates it like you do. Good luck with the sale.
