starting to see people talk about the now confirmed upcoming Pista Aperta. Two posters have already said they should be getting one but will have to give up the coupe. Let the discussion begin...

How do people get a confirmation for a car that we don't even officially know if and when it will be produced is a big question mark for me. I'm %100 sure that this so called "confirmation" is only a promise from the dealers and not coming as a official confirmation from Ferrari Italy.

I think we are very safe assuming there will be an aperta !

Because people love to speculate based on past performance and believe whatever they hear.

Given the consistency of information flow among Ferrari dealers( :):rolleyes:o_O:eek:), I'll wait for Italy to show me a picture.

(Not skeptical at all, but as of 4 days ago my dealer had NO confirmation, nor any info.)

Any idea who gets the coupe that a customer turns down for the Aperta? Dealer gets to allocate or Ferrari?

Give up means trade in not give up pending allocation.

    Dealer will sell at market.

My guess is that the dealer does but maybe needs Ferrari approval.
If rumors of exceptional demand are true, the dealer already has a waiting list and the order on that list has been managed with Ferrari as part of the allocation process.
If not, the dealer will allocate the cars to whoever they want.
I suspect it's the latter, and maybe it's been already the case for some time - dealers having asked customers to buy another car to get a Pista probably allocated "free" slots that way, it's not Ferrari putting this condition.

Dealers will want the Pistas back...there will be more folks wanting a Pista vs available. Makes sense that they will offer the Pista As to the Pista owners first...

Why sould we do that for aperta is the question.
My coupe order is in month ago. Mine was one of the first cars and they let me down from owning both.
They wnat to expand or maintain the customer base for sure.
I also suspect due to regualation changes, production run might ends sooner thus no for having both, and list goes out this fast for aperta.

That's not what I've heard - it's either, or. I and others have turned down the Pista for the Aperta. I think it's a Geneva car.

sorry for being unclear. Most US dealers will nicely suggest to the early Pista owners that they trade their Pistas in for a Pista A or etc. The dealers will obviously want the Pistas back for resell.....

This is impossible as the allocation criteria are not defined yet by Ferrari. I have strong relationship with the Ferrari biggest retaik owner in France and he was not able to confirm anything... this is pure imagination ...

The yellow color seems to be added to a video turned to black and white... so I'm not sure this car was actually yellow.

Well, I got pointed by ferrari for Aperta. They said no for having both.
And this is not my imagination.
My coupe order was in month ago because Ferrari asked me to order one for one of the first cars and despite this, ferrari still said no you can not have both.
